Begin by sitting in a chair with your shoes off and feet planted firmly on the ground.
Or if you choose to lie down,
Be sure your tailbone and the heels of your feet are touching the ground.
Once you're settled,
Close your eyes and take a deep breath into your lower abdomen.
This is called the Hara,
Located two inches below the belly button.
Begin to follow the rhythm of your breath,
The natural rhythm without regulating it,
Modulating it,
Or changing it in any way.
Adjust the natural rhythm of your inhale and exhale in this moment.
As you continue to follow your breath,
Allow the gentle inhale and exhale to bring your body and mind together,
Centering your focus.
With each breath,
You notice you are breathing a little deeper and slower than you were before.
Deeper and slower.
You become more and more relaxed than you were before.
Releasing tension that may be stored in any part of your body.
Releasing and relaxing.
At this time,
Bring your attention to your tailbone located at the base of your spine.
Imagine at the base of your spine a deep red circular spiral,
Vibrating slowly.
And with each breath,
Imagine this spiral emanating brighter and warmer.
Brighter and warmer.
Breathe deep into this spiral,
Creating a greater intensity,
Like when you blow on a flame.
Brighter and warmer,
And with greater intensity.
This is your root chakra.
Even in balance,
This first chakra brings you a great connection to the earth,
Sense of safety,
Security,
Peace,
And fulfillment.
It is our vital connection to life.
Breathe deep into the root chakra,
And I want you to visualize the energy moving down your legs through the bottom of your feet into the earth.
Allow your body to feel more and more rooted to the earth.
Connect the energy from your spine down through your feet into the earth.
Imagine this deep red light powerfully emanating from your root chakra,
Traveling from your spine down through your feet into the earth.
With each breath,
You are feeling more and more grounded.
More and more grounded.
More and more secure.
More and more safe.
Releasing any worries,
Fears,
Or insecurities,
Allowing them to drop away from you,
One by one.
Letting the gravity of the earth to lovingly pull them out of you,
One by one.
Continue to breathe and release.
And with each new inhale,
You are feeling more and more connected to your body.
Connected to the physical world around you.
Connected to the universe.
At this time,
I want you to allow the energy of strength,
Confidence,
Trust,
Peace,
And fulfillment to be drawn up from the earth through your feet,
Up your legs,
To your spine,
Connecting to your root chakra.
Inhale and exhale.
Know that you are safe.
Stay with your thoughts.
Stay with your feelings.
Stay with your breath and know that you are safe.
All is well.
Continue breathing the energy up from the earth into your body up to your root chakra.
With each new breath,
See your root chakra brightening,
Strengthening in intensity.
Consider these affirmations to assist in bringing you balance.
I am grounded and balanced.
I am safe and secure in the world.
I release old habits that no longer serve me.
I trust and accept myself and others.
I feel alive and powerful.
The universe provides me with all that I need.
My foundation is solid and stable.
I am calm and confident.
Bring your attention to your root chakra and the beautiful bright warm red light emanating from it.
Allow this light to fill your entire body,
Creating a deep sense of calm.
Streaming through your entire being.
Feeling totally anchored to the earth.
Totally secure.
Totally balanced.
Totally grounded.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
You are safe.
All is well.
Bring your attention to your heart center.
Breathe into it.
Allow it to expand.
Allow any last sense of anxiety,
Hesitation,
Resistance,
Doubt,
Or fear.
To melt away.
Let it all melt away.
Fill this space with compassion,
Forgiveness,
Trust,
Acceptance.
All is well.
Breathe one last time into your root chakra at the base of your spine.
Take a nice deep breath.
Allow gratitude to fill your being.
Give thanks for taking the time to connect with your root chakra.
To the earth below.
Into your highest self.
Know that you are safe at this moment,
As well as all moments of your life.
It's time to bring your awareness once again back into your physical body.
Into this space,
Becoming more and more aware of the rhythm of your breath.
Aware of your fingers and toes.
Aware of the sounds around you.
Breathing into your entire body.
