Welcome to your new day.
We're going to create the day today from a place of flow,
Of natural movement of energy that is flowing and easeful.
So as you arrive here now,
Notice how your body feels,
Maybe move it a little bit,
Tuck your shoulder blades underneath,
Adjust your pillow if you're still in bed,
Really allowing your body to open,
So palms might be upturned,
Feet gently rolling out as you soften into the feeling of your body being fully supported.
Letting go of the evening,
Letting go of the sleep time,
Letting it all fade away as you come right into this moment,
Cultivating a sense of grounding of arriving in your body,
Totally present and ready.
This morning's breath practice will help awaken and activate the body.
It's four short inhales in through the nose and then a long ah out through the mouth.
It sounds like this.
Really letting go on the out breath.
So when you're ready to commence with this breath and finding your own rhythm,
Finding what works for your body.
It's quite dynamic.
It's quite energizing for this time of morning.
Maybe you go a little bit softer,
Maybe four is too many counts for you and you do three.
It's totally up to you to find your movement as you find the rhythm for your own body in this moment.
Really feel and letting go as you breathe out like you're just letting go so you can flow.
You need to create space and these kinds of breath practices help us to create the space that we need to be able to flow in our lives.
Generating and activating energy in the body.
Feeling the lungs wake up.
Feeling the body waking up.
Another 30 seconds with this breathing practice.
Maybe dial it up or tone it down a little bit.
The next time you breathe out fully,
Coming into a natural gentle breath.
Notice how you're feeling.
Take a breath hold.
So when you're ready,
Take a full deep breath in.
A slow breath out nearly all the way to the bottom of the out breath and then pause here.
Feeling yourself and gently suspended.
And even though there is no breath,
There is still flow.
There is still movement in the body,
Activity,
Even within stillness.
And if you haven't already,
Take a deep nourishing breath in and allowing the breath to come back to its natural rhythm.
In our next dynamic and energizing breath practice,
The invitation is to breathe in through the mouth and out through the mouth.
And this will be a circular breath,
So little to no pause at the top of the inhalation and the bottom of the exhalation.
And the breath is a little deeper and bigger than you might normally breathe.
It might sound a little like this.
A slight pursing of the lips to create a circular shape.
Like you're sucking the breath in,
Not straining or stressing.
And then as you're breathing out,
The jaw relaxes and the mouth opens a little bit to allow the air to naturally flow out.
So there's more intention,
More energy on the in breath.
And then a letting go on the out breath.
So when you're ready,
Commencing beginning this breath.
Going in this way,
Letting this flow happen,
Letting your body simply breathe and move.
You might even find a physical movement that you do with this breath or a gentle spinal roll or some other movement that feels good as we flow with this breath.
Good,
It's quite a dynamic breath.
You might notice feeling a little light headed or tingles in the fingers,
Toes or slight tension in the jaw.
See if you can soften through and breathe through that.
You can always come back to natural breath.
Energizing your system,
Inviting the body to wake up.
30 seconds of this breath,
Perhaps you dial it up a little.
Like you're really drawing in energy or life force.
It's not just breath that you're breathing,
Not just oxygen,
Perhaps it's energy as well.
And then allowing your breath to restore back again,
Coming into a soft,
Natural breathing rhythm.
We'll do another hold now.
So when you're ready,
Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
And then a deep breath in to nearly the top of the in breath to hold.
Pausing here.
Without tension,
Just being.
Noticing sensations in your body.
Being in the peace of the moment.
And if you haven't already,
Letting the breath out.
Coming to a gentle rhythmic breath.
And beginning to focus your attention now more deeply on your breath as you breathe more deeply.
And slowly with a focus on the out breath,
Really letting go,
Really softening in.
You might imagine like water waves just lapping on the shore,
Your breath comes and goes.
It's nourishing,
Smooth,
Flowing,
Breathing rhythm.
It's a little longer than you might normally as you breathe in and then extending the exhalation as you breathe out,
Letting go.
And finding balance here.
Starting in your body now.
Who do you choose to be today?
Visualize getting a sense of who do you choose to be today?
You can create yourself.
Every day is an opportunity to start anew.
How would you like to feel today?
More joy,
More peace,
More energy,
More focus,
More self love.
How would you like to feel?
What does your best day look like?
Are there things that you'd like to achieve today,
Explore or express?
What does your best day look like wherever you are?
Can you be open to the flow of things being amazing?
Today is simplicity,
Enjoying the simple,
Basic things in life.
Perhaps today you get in touch with your true north,
Your yes,
Your no and making decisions aligned with this,
Practicing,
Listening deeply before you act,
Before you speak.
What is it that I need?
Does this bring me in alignment with my true north,
My true purpose or away from it?
What are you grateful for in yourself?
What can you acknowledge in you?
And what are you thankful for in your world?
Could be something very simple.
It might be that you're here breathing,
Being and checking in with yourself.
