Welcome to the Overcome Anxiety meditation.
Find a calm,
Quiet spot.
Set the lighting nice and low and do whatever you need to do right now to get as comfortable as possible.
Take some nice deep belly breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle.
In and out.
In and out.
All of these calming techniques are encouraging your body to release oxytocin,
Our own natural relaxation hormone.
Let's go back to the breath now.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
My anxiety does not define me.
It is not who I am.
I am in control of my life,
Not my anxiety.
It is simply something residing within me right now that I am learning to navigate.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
I had a life before anxiety and I will have one again.
When my heart is racing,
I will remember that it is just my anxiety letting me know it is there.
I am safe.
I am okay.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
I am not afraid of my anxiety.
My body sends me anxiety because it thinks it's what I need to keep myself safe.
It is trying to help me.
My body wants the best for me,
Even when it gets a little confused trying to do so.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
I will survive this moment.
My physical symptoms will pass.
I will overcome this.
There is nothing stronger than the power and strength I harness within.
I am bigger than this moment.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
I am not crazy.
I am having very real symptoms caused by my body's natural fight-or-flight response.
This is not my fault.
I am so,
So courageous for pushing through every single minute with this condition.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
There will be times when it feels like it is too much and it is okay when I feel this way.
Every single time I have felt this way,
I have survived and it has passed.
I am going to be okay again and again and again.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
In,
Out.
With each day that passes,
I get more and more control over my anxiety.
I am getting my life back and I am so proud of myself for believing that this is all possible for me.
My anxiety does not define me.
It is not who I am.
I am in control of my life and I am going to be okay.
I am in control.
I am in control.
I am in control.
