Shower Meditation Allow this meditation to help cleanse your thoughts.
Relax your face,
Relax your jaw,
Relax the center of the throat,
And relax your collarbones.
Noticing the flow of the breath,
Like a current,
Moving up,
Moving down.
Allow any pressure around your head to start to dissolve.
Maybe take a dry swallow to relax the center of the throat and soften the shoulders.
Allow any pressure around the crown of your head to dissolve.
Allow it to run down the back of the neck,
Down the shoulders,
Down to the navel,
To the sacrum,
Lower back,
To the knees,
To the calves,
All the way down to the toes.
Allow this awareness to just wash down over you.
The eyelids can relax and notice the subtle tingle of energy that brushes its way across the surface of your skin.
Simply notice it and experience it for what it is.
Allow the rise of your breath to move through your body like steam.
Allow it to spread and disperse itself to the outer edges,
To the corners,
And the crevices of your body.
Allow the corners of the eyes to relax,
The space underneath the eyebrows,
Underneath the socket of the eyes,
Underneath the cheekbones,
Underneath the cheekbones,
Underneath the chin,
Underneath the base of the throat.
Be filled with this awareness,
This subtle flow of energy.
Allow it to move underneath the armpits,
Underneath the rib cage,
The underside of your navel,
And the underside of the hips,
Allowing the flow of your energy.
Let it move underneath the knees,
Underneath the heels,
Underneath the toes.
Continue to rise and spread,
Evening itself throughout the body.
Draw to your mind's eye the scents that allow you to feel some comfort,
Remembering the smell of lavender,
Recalling the smell of rosemary,
Remembering the smell of pine,
Allowing the awareness and the sensation to draw its way through your mind as if you could feel it through the body.
Allow yourself to be and embrace the textures around you,
That brush against the surface of the skin.
There's an attention before moving,
See if it can settle itself,
Dissolve itself,
Down through the body,
Down through the hips,
Down through the knees,
Dissolve the feet.
Allow yourself to take a full breath in and a full breath out.
Before you leave,
No matter how abstract or concrete it may be,
Allow for 10 seconds for an intention around the rest of this day to reveal itself to you,
Whether it shows itself up as an image,
As an idea,
As a sound,
Or as a pattern.
Namaste.
