Welcome,

Sweet soul,

Find a quiet space,

Settle into comfort and gently close your eyes.

Whatever you are carrying with you is ok.

We are on our way to still our waters together towards the inner peace that always resides within.

With the eyes closed,

Go inward,

Toward the landscape of your inner world and imagine yourself standing by the flowing waters of a winding river,

Ready to take a ride downstream towards peace.

See the river clearing in your mind,

Paint it like a picture,

See it flowing through lush forests,

Past sleepy riverbanks,

Winding through valleys and hills.

Now,

With a deep breath,

Step onto the sturdy,

Solid raft that will carry you.

Feel into the contact points between you and the surface below you,

Helping you feel supported.

Feel the firmness of the raft beneath you,

Grounding you in the present moment.

Feel yourself push off from the riverbank.

Let the raft cradle you as you begin to float down the river,

Which mirrors the twists and turns of your own beautiful journey.

Notice yourself drifting down the meandering river,

Gliding through the green landscape.

Feel the subtle movement of the raft as you navigate the river's curves.

Connect to the gentle ebb and flow of the raft as it winds its way downstream.

Connect to the feeling of freshness in the air and recognize the aliveness of the scene.

As you float,

Connect to the rhythm of your breath,

Not trying to change it,

Just noticing how it's flowing with awareness and maybe noticing how that awareness invites your sweet breath to settle and slow on its own.

Feel how your breath,

Like a gentle breeze,

Is actually influencing the river around you.

Maybe the waters of the river are choppy,

As maybe are the waters of your mind,

But with each breath,

Set a ripple of intention for peace,

Inviting the river of your mind to find ease.

With each inhale,

Choose awareness,

Choose peace and with each exhale,

Choose release.

Let go of the breath and of any thoughts and emotions that stir the waters and notice if that intention invites the ripples of the river within to start to ease.

With each slowing breath,

The river mirrors that same calm,

Responding to your tranquility.

The ripples below start to settle and the twists start to straighten,

Harmonizing with the ease of release.

Feel that the more you let go,

The more that release eases and softens the course of the river,

Creating harmony and peace inside you and in the world around you.

Move into that release,

To the feeling of being held and supported,

Of flowing with peace,

Grace and trust.

Release the need to cling to the raft or to the stories of your emotions.

Choose peace,

Relax into the flow,

Visualizing resistance dissolving,

Like debris carried away by the current.

As you surrender,

The river responds,

Becoming calmer and straightening into a peaceful path,

Reflecting the stillness and the tranquility deep within.

As you float,

Listen to the whispers of the river,

Trust its wisdom about the beauty of letting go.

The more you let go,

The calmer it becomes.

The more you surrender to fully trusting its turns,

The more peaceful and easier the journey becomes.

You are the captain,

Navigating the river of your mind.

The peace you seek is nowhere else but within you,

Here and now.

As the river straightens,

Connect to gratitude for the sacred journey,

Thank yourself for the courage to release and rediscover the peace within and now just be with that peace,

Drifting home to the tranquility within.

Now gently guide your raft to the riverbank,

Stepping back onto firm land,

Feeling rooted and held,

Carrying the stillness and tranquility with you.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes,

Knowing that this inner peace is always accessible,

No matter how rocky the waters may appear.
