Taking a moment to find a place where you can sit or lie flat in a comfortable position.

Sensing now a magnificent beach in front of you.

You might like to close your eyes and behind your closed eyes visualise this beach.

What can you see?

Is the water calm or perhaps it's rough?

Is the sand in front of you,

Is it coarse or fine?

Are there trees,

Perhaps sand dunes?

Are you by yourself?

Or there are animals such as birds,

Perhaps dogs running along the beach?

Are you the only person at this beach?

Knowing that this space is a safe place where you can relax,

Be soothed by nature,

Be held and nurtured.

What can you hear?

The sound of the waves,

Rushing against the shore,

Perhaps birds chatting to one another.

Maybe the wind in the trees,

Is there a light breeze or the sun,

Is it touching your skin?

Gently caressing as it flows over your skin.

Can you feel the sand beneath your feet?

You might like to touch the sand with your hands and just feel the beautiful grains.

Are they warm?

Perhaps wet?

Do they feel coarse?

What sensations can you feel with your fingers as you touch the sand?

Are there any fragrances floating in the air,

Perhaps a salty scent coming from the ocean?

And are there any lingering flavours within your mouth,

Perhaps from recent meals and drink eating and drunk?

You might like to just run your tongue over your teeth and your lips,

Can you feel and taste the salt air on your lips?

And as you sit here just looking out over the water,

What sensations are going on in your body?

How are your thoughts?

Is there a slowing down,

A slight pause between your thoughts?

And as you sit here in this beautiful safe space,

What sensations can you feel within your body?

How's your shoulders and stomach and forehead and jaw,

Are they starting to loosen and release?

And bringing a beautiful sense of settling and calm as it washes over your whole body.

And just now taking some time to just be in this present moment.

And as you hear the beautiful sound of the waves against the shore,

Just feeling a beautiful sense of calmness washing over you.
