I'd like to guide you into a gratitude meditation when we face a crisis.
We typically enter into a place of fear and it grips us,
Creating anxiety and distress.
And we feel it in the body.
The body releases all these stress hormones,
Cortisol,
Adrenaline,
It pumps up the heart rate,
And it makes us feel frazzled and nervous and shaky and tense and basically we enter survival mode.
In that state,
We are not functioning at our best.
In fact,
It's suppressing our immune system,
Which is not exactly what you want.
Fear has a very low vibrational frequency and it can lead to feelings of sadness and depression ultimately.
So now more than ever,
It's essential for you to boost up your inner powers and raise your vibrations and your energies.
And the best way to accomplish this is through gratitude and through meditation.
So I've combined both for you.
I'm Peggy Sielfon,
Personal development coach,
Trained in both Western and Eastern traditions.
I'd like to help calm your nerves and allow you to connect to the source within where you are empowered and awakened.
So let's begin by quieting the mind.
Close your eyes.
And I'd like you to bring your hands into prayer position.
Palms pressed together in front of your heart.
This mood just symbolizes heartfelt thankfulness.
So take a moment as you hold this prayer position to focus on that feeling of thankfulness and allow yourself to be present right here,
Right now.
Notice sensations in your body.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax all facial expression.
Surrender to this experience.
Sit comfortably and take a deep breath in through your nose and let go with a big sigh,
Releasing all tension.
Feel the connection of your heart to your hands in gratitude.
Feel the safety and security of this moment.
Notice where the energy of gratitude goes in your body.
Breathe slow,
Deep breaths.
As you notice sensations throughout your body.
Focus on your heart.
Consider what you are grateful for.
I am grateful for this moment.
I am grateful to be alive at this time.
I am grateful for the food and water I have.
I am grateful for family and friends.
I am grateful for this time to be peaceful,
To relax,
To let go of all tensions,
And to accept what is as is.
I'll guide you into a simple breath technique.
Begin by taking a nice,
Full,
Deep inhalation through your nose and as you exhale,
Blow the air out through gently pursed lips as if you're blowing through a straw.
Continue this deep breathing,
Really being aware of the sound of your breath,
Inhaling fully and blowing out all fears,
Worries,
Anxieties,
Angers.
Let it all go.
Take the exhalation a little bit longer than each inhalation.
With the next breath out,
Empty your lungs completely and just let your breath resume naturally.
Make notice of any sensations activated from the deep breathing that you're feeling now in your body.
It is merging into your energy body.
Be the observer.
Gratitude is a high vibrational frequency.
And the more you drop into this meditative state,
The more you integrate mind and body so that you boost your immune system,
You open all the channels and meridians so everything is functioning more optimally.
Notice where you feel gratitude in your body.
Feel the connection of your prayerful hands with your heart.
Be fully present in this moment.
In this moment,
You are safe.
In this moment,
You are handling life.
In this moment,
You are connected to a higher power.
Trust in this higher power.
Trust in your own resiliency and capabilities.
You are far more expansive than you realize.
So open your heart,
Open your mind.
And now bring your focus to the middle of your brow center in the middle of your forehead.
This is considered the third eye.
It's the place where mind,
Body,
Heart,
And spirit come together in oneness and union.
This is where all the dormant healing powers in your body are activated.
So focus now on the third eye.
Holding gratitude in your heart,
Give yourself permission to drop into relaxation and drop into stillness.
Notice how much quieter your mind has become.
Your heartbeat has slowed down physiologically.
Your nervous system has become quieter.
Your breath slow and almost imperceptible.
Everything in your body and mind is functioning better and you've brought yourself to a place of peace and calmness.
Know that you can come back to this place again and again and again and again.
And if you'd like to stay here longer,
Just continue focusing on the third eye and continuing to guide yourself to drop into stillness.
Otherwise you may now open your eyes and allow the world to come back in.
Be safe.
Be healthy.
Be joyful.
Be grateful.
