Welcome to day 24,
Eyes Pain.
Begin by feeling at home where you are right now.
At home with the sounds and sights around you.
Shift your posture to a comfortable awake position.
And with closed eyes,
Shift your awareness inside to your breath.
Follow the stream of air as you inhale and exhale.
And let your thoughts and feelings fly by in the space of your mind and heart.
Do you feel any pain right now?
Pain is an essential part of life.
It's part of our birth and our death.
Yet we spend so much energy running away from it,
Which we can't.
But we can change our relationship to it.
Because pain is like mud.
You can grow beautiful things in pain with your inner gardener.
You can grow compassion for others in pain and for yourself.
You can grow a sense of urgency to stop procrastinating the important things.
And grow humble for the things outside your control.
But pain is also like dirt.
We can grow other things in pain.
Bitterness,
Fear,
Anxiety.
And pain can become new parts of our armor.
It's all about how you meet it.
Can you meet your pain like an old friend?
Oh,
It's you.
Where have you been all this time?
Or can you feel pain like information from your body?
Just a neutral package of information,
Communicating to you.
Oh,
Please be a little bit more careful next time.
When we unpack our armor,
New kinds of pain can arise as old tensions release.
It can also be pain in relationships.
As physical and mental pain are very much two sides of the same coin.
And we can try to get rid of our pain,
Killing it with painkillers,
Which can work for brief moments.
But there is another way for lasting relief.
Instead of making war against our pain,
Open yourself for the possibility that pain is good news.
News of healing.
Pain is always a symptom of something else.
Something in the body being repaired.
Something in our relationships that needs our attention,
That needs our love.
When you block this kind of pain,
You're missing out on a possibility of healing.
Of upgrading your reality to a more sustainable,
Awesome one.
The reality of vulnerability.
And pain takes us here.
To the realization that things do break down.
Bodies crumble and break so easily.
Relationships too.
So let's take care of each other.
Let's be kind,
Because we don't know how much longer we have together.
Congratulations,
You finished day 24.
Let's finish by taking a moment of gratitude.
Give thanks for all the good things you have received.
And feel grateful to yourself.
For all the good deeds you have done for your own and everyone else's well-being.
