Welcome to the third day.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Seated,
Lying down,
Standing or walking,
With a relaxed and awake posture.
You might want to stretch your back carefully and soften your shoulders.
See if you can relax your belly a bit and open your chest wide.
Now close your eyes and direct your attention to your breathing.
Focus on the physical sensations in the belly and chest of air that is flowing in and flowing out.
If you want you can put a hand on your belly and let your thoughts take care of themselves for a while and keep returning to your breath.
Just follow the inhalation and exhalation again and again.
It is said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul.
In that case I call the breath the window,
The window to our inner nature.
Because whatever thoughts or feelings that arise in you are always reflected in your breath.
Every emotion has a unique breathing pattern and by getting to know your breathing you increase your knowledge about your inner world.
In fact your breath is a very sophisticated stress meter.
Slightest worry or frustrating thought leaves a track in your breath.
Our breathing can become stiff,
Uncomfortable and tight when our brain is overstimulated or worried.
Have you ever noticed this?
But don't worry,
Your breathing will become increasingly open,
Fluid and effortless as we continue the journey.
So keep noticing your breath,
The sensations in your belly,
Chest and throat.
You don't have to do anything right now.
Nothing to fix,
Just let the breath come and go as it is.
Our inner world is like a lake.
When we are stressed,
The surface is pounded by waves and we can't see clearly through the water.
The only way to escape the storm is to go deeper below the surface and connect with your breath.
In here you can let the wailing winds fly by without notice.
Let the thoughts pass you by like a breath of air on your cheek.
I know,
It's impossible sometimes and it can feel hopeless.
But it is possible when we take it slowly,
One breath at a time.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Finish by taking a few deep breaths.
Inhaling,
Exhaling.
Congratulations,
You have finished the third day.
It doesn't matter if these first days have been boring,
Funny,
Easy or difficult because you are building a foundation.
A foundation for a peaceful life.
It might take some time but every minute will be worth it.
