This is a guided meditation practice to help you fall asleep easier. It's helpful when you get stuck in worry or negative thought patterns. There are no background sounds and no bell at the end, so as to not disturb your sleep. And it's a much better way than counting sheep.

Welcome to this alternative method for falling asleep.

First we have to remember that falling asleep isn't something you can do.

It's something that happens when you stop doing.

We fall asleep.

We don't rush asleep or jump asleep or create sleep.

We simply fall.

So begin by falling into your breath.

Feel each breath.

Air coming in and air going out.

Keep coming back to your own breath.

You might want to put a hand on your belly or your chest to really feel the physical sensations from the movements of the breath.

Let the thoughts slow down with each inhalation and exhalation.

Try telling your brain kindly that it's done a great job today with all the planning and thinking.

Now it's time for the brain to rest and recharge.

There is no need to think of anything more today to solve anything or plan anything.

The day is over.

You did it brain.

By resting in your breathing your body naturally recovers from stress.

And if you fall asleep that's great.

If you don't that's equally great.

Because then you are training your brain to relax and rest.

So again and again return to your breath.

So again and again return to your breath.

Let go of any thoughts and just come back to this moment.
