Hello,
Pashalindi here.
Here's a short mindfulness practice designed to help us meet life as it is.
So first,
Finding a comfortable sitting or standing position.
Closing your eyes or leaving the eyes open with a soft gaze.
Taking a moment to ground and center ourselves.
And taking a nice long deep breath.
Exhaling fully on the out-breath with a sense of releasing,
Letting go.
And then allowing the breath to settle into its own natural rhythm.
And now imagining a majestic mountain.
Some people see an image of a mountain in their mind's eye,
And for others it's more of a kind of felt sense of a mountain.
Just however it comes to mind for you.
Imagining the body becoming like a mountain,
Grounded,
Solid,
Still.
Where we feel our seat or the ground beneath us is the base of the mountain.
The arms and legs like the slopes.
The head,
The peak.
And the mountain stable and still in the middle of change.
The seasons change around the mountain.
In the autumn,
Surrounded by golden hazy sunshine.
Moving way to winter,
The mountain in the midst of intense weather,
Storms,
Freezing ice,
Avalanches.
But the mountain centered and still in the middle of change.
Giving way to spring,
A pink and orange dawn,
Birdsong,
Rivulets of melting snow and tiny white flowers blossoming.
Giving way to summer,
The green trees in full leaf,
The sun blazing,
A blue sky and eagles soaring.
And all the time,
The mountain stable and grounded in the middle of change.
And all the time,
Clouds coming and passing,
Winds rising and falling,
The sun rising and setting.
Night falls,
The stars twinkling,
The moon hidden by clouds.
Day and night,
Coming and going.
Standing like the mountain as best we can,
Rooted,
Solid and centered in the middle of change.
Letting life unfold around us.
And if you wish,
You can continue,
Perhaps imagining yourself like a mountain at other times during the day.
Thanks for taking time to reconnect.
