Welcome.
I'm so glad you're joining me here today.
As we get started,
I invite you to look around your space and see if there's anything that might cause a distraction for the next few minutes.
Take care of that.
Find a comfortable way to be.
Perhaps that's sitting in a chair with your feet flat on the floor.
Maybe it's lying down.
And if your eyes are still open,
I invite you to close them gently.
Today's theme is internal peace.
With so much chaos going on immediately around us and in the bigger world surrounding us,
It can be very helpful to look inside and find a place where it's peaceful,
Even if we only go there for a moment when we really need to find it.
So I encourage you to explore what your reaction was when I mentioned the idea of internal peace.
Maybe you loved the idea,
Couldn't get enough of it,
And can't wait to get there.
But maybe you're feeling some resistance to that.
Whatever your reaction,
That's okay.
We're going to meet each other where we are and take a step forward.
So if you did meet with resistance,
I invite you to let that resistance have a seat beside you for the duration of this journey.
And if at the end of the journey,
You need to pick that resistance back up and put it in your body,
Then you've still got it.
You know exactly where it is because everybody needs to move at their own pace.
That's all right.
As we move into this next step of the journey,
We're going to do some breathing together.
And I invite you to breathe in through your nose and you can release through your mouth.
You could make a sound or you could breathe out through your nose,
Whatever seems to feel comfortable.
So let's take that first inhale together and release.
This next time,
Let's hold the air at the top for just a few moments.
We'll float there and then we'll release the air.
Here we go.
Inhale,
Float here at the top and release.
And let's make our move inward.
Place a hand on your heart if that feels comfortable and another hand on your abdomen and bring that connection to your body as we move inwards.
We're looking for that internal peace.
It's often been compared to a cave within a mountain.
Can we find a place deep enough within even though the weather is affecting the outside of the mountain,
The cave remains cool,
Calm.
So the sun could be burning down on the mountain or there could be rain or hail or snow.
Inside the cave remains the same.
I invite you to explore inside for the next little while.
Follow your breath,
Stay with your body and see if you can find a tiny space of internal peace.
Of internal peace.
