Hello,
I'm Gina Ferrara of Odonata Reiki Healing Arts.
This seated meditation will focus on grounding and releasing negative energy.
As we move throughout the day,
We are constantly coming into contact with the energy of others.
This can be wonderful,
But sometimes there are pieces of the not wonderful that eke out and we take it inside.
It is easy to absorb negativity even without realizing.
When you find yourself drained,
Sleepless,
Anxious,
Restless,
Or not able to appreciate joy,
You may be processing negative thoughts,
Feelings,
And energy.
Using this routinely is important to maintain grounding and stability and to be able to clearly tap into and manage your own feelings.
Focused breathing is a good way to avoid this energy when you know it's surrounding.
But awareness is not always possible,
So we move to releasing when necessary.
I find this grounding cord imagery to be a simple and effective way to acknowledge connection to the earth,
Release negative energy,
And gain a sense of grounding.
I ask you to sit in a comfortable seat with your feet flat and connected to the ground.
In preparation for the meditation,
Let's move a bit to release tension.
I will only offer simple verbal guidance,
So utilize this as you will and be sure to find the movement that feels right for you.
These are simply suggestions.
I like to move because it is helpful to begin meditation in a more relaxed state.
Draw in and release two deep but gentle breaths.
Next,
Take in two deep belly breaths and release them with vigor and sound.
Easily guide your head on your neck,
Looking up and down in a time that works for you.
On your head to look over one shoulder and then the other.
Again,
Taking care to go as slowly as you need.
And then dropping your head to the side,
Right ear toward your right shoulder.
After coming to center,
Dropping left ear toward your left shoulder.
If you like and are able,
Comfortably roll your head around on your neck in full or half circles.
Using stretch to all sides.
And repeat anything that feels right.
Timing to keep the breath flowing as you move,
Roll and move your shoulders.
They can go around in circles,
Forward or back.
Move up and down and forward and back.
Continuing to breathe,
Allow the movement to extend down to your arms.
Standing at the elbows.
Flapping the arms up and down.
Circling the lower arms or the whole arm.
Roll and move your hands on your wrists.
And fully open your hands,
Extending the fingers,
Stretching them wide and full.
Keep breathing as you move any parts which feel that they need extra release.
In your seat,
Twist and rock your upper body or torso,
Bending,
Rocking,
Swaying,
Forward,
Backward,
Sideward,
And circular.
Lift up and release your cheeks,
Your bottom,
Your buttocks,
Allowing some air in.
Keep breathing and move your legs,
Lifting them up.
Extending from the knee a few times as if pushing a soccer ball.
And rotating the feet on the ankles,
Taking time to really stretch in many directions.
Be aware of any other areas that need movement or tension release.
And move or massage that area.
When you are ready,
Place one hand on your chest and the other on your belly.
Breathe comfortably and feel your power as your hands move up and down with your breath.
Allow your awareness to be released from all that surrounds you.
Focus inward.
Release your hands to your lap or keep them at your breath points and close your eyes if you are able.
In your mind's eye,
Visualize your pelvis,
Your seat,
Your root chakra,
Muladhara.
See the red or pink glow filling this area.
Take a moment and feel stable and rooted here.
From this space,
Allow a cord or hollow thread to emerge and descend.
This cord can be any material,
Color,
Texture you wish.
Allow the cord to grow and descend down through the floor and into the earth.
Focus deep down as you can picture or until it reaches the core,
The center of the earth.
Play with this picture for a few moments.
Allow the cord to break up and then form a new one.
Try that a couple of times.
Try out different images until one feels right for you.
Explore different colors and patterns to try to find the one that fits for your cord today.
Once you have comfort with this cord,
You begin to use it to send down the negative energy to the welcoming Mother Earth.
She will accept it and dissolve it.
It cannot harm her.
Open your mind's eye,
Begin at the top of your head and see a blue wave of color gradually moving down into your body,
Automatically capturing negative thoughts and energy and pulling them down.
You do not have to identify this energy.
It will find its way out.
Let it funnel down into the pelvis through the cord,
Retreating from within and emptying out into the earth below.
Do not fear releasing too much.
Anything that belongs to you will remain or will be returned.
There is no concern or responsibility here.
Allow the wave to continue flowing,
Pulling with it the events of your day,
Your week,
Your month.
If any negative images or situations emerge,
Send them into the wave and down through the cord.
You can let this flow move at any speed you wish.
The wave can move through all places in your body or straight down from head to cord.
Change its colors or have no color.
Stripes or stars.
The grounding cord can remain connected and move with you as you travel through your day.
When you return to this meditation,
You can dissolve any cord remaining and create a new one.
Sense a bright yellow sunshine above your head and feel it enter and flood your body with this warming,
Healing,
Glowing light.
Breathe deeply as you accept this closure.
Smile.
Gently bow your head in reverence and gratitude to Mother Earth.
Gently and gently begin to move small parts of your body,
Your hands,
Your feet,
Your face and then your arms and back and possibly your legs in a larger body stretch.
When you feel prepared,
Gradually open your eyes just a bit at a time,
Letting the light slowly filter in until they are fully opened.
Look around,
Smile and acknowledge your change.
