Let's journey to a time of rest.
This meditation will begin with gentle stretching and move into breath,
Visuals and rhyming sounds to assist you in releasing thoughts and tension as you glide into rest.
So now,
Stretch and move your body as you are able to release tension and prepare yourself to relax.
Roll your head from side to side.
Stretch your arms overhead or in front extending and stretching your hands and fingers.
Rolling your shoulders gently.
Extending fully and stretching out your legs.
Allowing your feet to roll on the ankles.
And to offer yourself any other movement that is needed now to prepare you to release.
When you feel sufficiently stretched,
Cleanse internally with a couple of full breaths and release them with a force that feels right.
And now settle in.
Move your body until you have comfort and continue to move as you need to in search of that comfort as we continue.
And now you become supported as you find this peaceful,
Gentle path into rest.
You are supported in this rest.
You are safe in this space.
Peace lies within this rest.
Take a moment to observe your breath.
Allow the inhalation to go all the way down to reach your feet.
And then as you exhale,
Let it go from your feet through your body and release out your crown.
So breathe down to your feet.
Exhale out of your crown.
Feel yourself sink into the bed surface as you exhale.
Breathe down to your feet and exhale out your crown.
Release the need to hold yourself up.
Breathe down to your feet and exhale out your crown.
Be supported by the bed.
Be supported by the earth.
Release the need to support yourself.
You are supported in this rest.
You are safe in this space.
Peace lies within this rest.
Imagine your ceiling as an inky dark sky.
Surrounding the room and the space where you lie.
Just a smattering of stars visible to the eye.
Your thoughts are released and sleep is nigh.
If thoughts emerge as they will,
Wrap them in a clear bubble which you can observe floating up,
Up,
Up and out into your black sky.
Easily to be returned when rest is done.
Now gently and slowly allow the black sky surrounding you to descend.
With each breath bring it closer.
Slowly closer.
Slowly closer.
Melting on top of you and cradling you with its gentle softness.
A blanket of quiet dark comfort.
Enveloping you in peace,
Calm,
Rest.
