Do you know the difference between visualization and goal setting? How can we use visualization as a tool to achieve our goal? This short guided meditation will teach you how to use visualization as a beautiful vehicle to experience your goals.

I'm Nora Sofia thank you so much for meditating with me.

Today I want to talk about what it is to have vision versus a goal.

So often I love to teach visualization combined with meditation but sometimes it's hard to tell the difference for people and we end up only with vision and no goals.

So we're gonna talk about that today but first I want you to just get in a space that's relaxing whether that's sitting down lying down for some it's standing.

We're gonna begin with our breath work.

So I want you to just inhale and exhale as you're comfortable.

Whatever rhythm you prefer to get you in that state of relaxation of letting go.

Your vision isn't something that needs to be created.

Your vision already exists within you.

It's a matter of bringing it out to something to get in touch with it.

Your vision is the big picture of desire.

It's an internal response to what is most important to you.

Your vision is exciting.

It's inspiring and it's filled with wonderful wonderful radiance.

A goal on the other hand.

A goal is something that is specific.

It's designed as a milestone in our life.

A goal requires being completed.

Goals are like rungs on a ladder to the path that you want to lead to the ultimate destination.

So when you're setting goals I want you to think of being specific.

Specific,

Clear and precise.

I want you to think about it being measurable.

How do you quantify and measure the progress toward a goal?

I want you to think about whether it's realistically achievable.

Can it be attained?

I want you to consider the resources that you have available and those that are necessary.

And finally time.

Do you have a start and end date to your goal?

Using visualization is an extremely powerful way to train our mind to go after and attain what it is that we're looking for.

So I'm gonna walk you through a guided visualization to put a goal into the future.

So let's begin with an area of your life you have in mind and choose maybe an area where you've been struggling or would like to experience transformation.

And now I want you to begin imagining the highest possible outcome that you would love to be living in this area maybe in six to twelve months from now.

I want you to visualize living your life the way you would if everything were to come true.

What does that ultimate reality look like?

At this point you may have some interjecting thoughts of limitation maybe negativity.

I just want you to notice them.

Just be aware.

Don't get hung up on them.

The goal is here to be completely wild and free with the visualization.

Now I want you to connect with a goal that you'd like to have and see come to fruition in the next three months.

Make it something that isn't so easy but something that has weight to it.

Something meaningful.

Choose something that once carried out you'll be left with a high sense of accomplishment that will motivate you to set the next goal.

And now that you've connected with the goal imagine what your life would be like and feel like once you have completed it.

I want you to literally create a picture or movie in your mind and step inside the visual as if you were already inside it looking through your own eyes feeling with your own hands smelling with your nose.

All your senses completely heightened to this experience.

Even taste.

What does it taste like to be in that experience?

Now step out of the image that you've worked with and created and imagine that you were separate from it that you're almost floating up in the air above it and you're bringing that mental image with you.

I want you to take a deep inhale and as you exhale use that breath to almost blow energy into that image filling it with as much intention and purpose.

And I want you to do this seven times.

Now I want you to imagine going into the future and I want you to visualize dropping this representation of your goal into a timeline of your life.

I want you to see the date and the time that you have set for this goal to be completed and I want you to visualize dropping that experience into that timeline.

And as you do I want you to notice how all the events between then and now almost like dominoes reevaluate they change to support accomplishing this goal.

Visualize this process and make it real.

Once this feels complete for you come back to now and with your eyes still closed consider what steps that you will take in the next day and the next week to move you closer to this visualization and the goal that you have created.

Then take a few deep breaths to ground yourself before opening your eyes and as you do write down your list of action steps and maybe do any journaling to accompany this experience so that it becomes so concrete in your mind's eye that you can go back there as many times as you like to experience the execution the visualization the shifting and the changing.

And finally you must take action to maintain your focus.

Every single day do something that reminds you and moves you closer to realizing this goal and living your dream.

Do this once a week or upon completion of the action steps so that you can continue moving forward toward your vision.

Seeing is absolutely believing and visualization is a beautiful tool to help us to realize our goals.

I really like the explanation of the difference between visualization and goal setting and connecting the two. I enjoyed the aspect where you have to drop the visual into a timeline and make that the end goal. I also appreciated the advice on how to strengthen the goal by journaling and keeping a focus on the end result in the future.
