Today I want to talk about how to help us eliminate negative words,
Negative phrases from our thinking.
So I want to begin with us just taking some deep breaths.
So let's breathe in,
See if we can breathe in for seven seconds.
Great,
Now hold and try to hold that for four seconds if you can.
And finally,
Let's have the longest release that we possibly can.
That's wonderful.
Let's do that again.
Inhale,
Try to inhale for seven seconds.
As we're inhaling,
Consider we're inhaling life.
We're inhaling love.
And as we exhale,
After we hold it,
Yes,
And now we're going to exhale.
A long,
Wonderful exhale and we are letting go of negativity.
The old is gone.
The new is here.
The new is now.
And now is the eternal moment where we get to be present.
And one more breath.
And then hold and release.
Wonderful.
Did you know that negative words and phrases have four to 10 times more power over our day,
Over our life than positive words or neutral words,
Right?
Negative words and phrases,
Especially when they are spoken out loud,
Impact us.
They affect us.
And I would go so far as to say even text messages.
And the reason I say that is though they're not spoken out loud,
We read them aloud in our mind and they linger.
And not only that,
There's a record so we can go back and reread them again and again.
So the challenge for today is to learn to practice eliminating these negative words and phrases.
And even when we hear negative words or phrases,
To just imagine like a waterfall.
These words are continuing to flow down and out,
Away from us,
Away from our heart,
Away from our minds,
Right?
And our water that flows is pure.
It's beautiful.
It's positive.
It's refreshing.
What I don't want for us to get hung up on is replacing.
Sometimes we think in eliminating negativity,
We have to reframe things into a positive way.
Well,
How many of you know that that's not always possible?
Life can throw some crazy things at us.
So for now,
Let's just focus on eliminating any of this vibe that would continue to reverberate energy throughout our day rather than the energy of love,
The energy of quiet,
The energy that brings life.
Consider for a moment when you have a bad phone call or you have a negative exchange with someone.
Doesn't that linger throughout your day?
It carries over for sure.
When we have a loving exchange,
A loving experience,
When we hug our spouse or hug our children,
I want you to think about staying in that moment for at least 20 seconds.
When we do that,
We allow that goodness,
That love,
That peace,
That awe and wonder to simply wash over us,
To permeate our spirit so that it becomes ingrained in our memory and we get to carry that forth throughout our day.
I want you to be watchful of your words.
Hear what you speak.
Hear what you allow to plant seeds.
Awareness.
Just be able to catch those things and don't be a reporter for your life,
Especially with negativity.
Don't talk yourself into an experience.
Rather observe,
Wonder about it and if it's a negative thing,
Let it go.
Just let it go down that waterfall where it flows out.
Hold on to those moments of peace and love.
Remember your breathing.
You can always go back to that breathing.
Breathing in for seven seconds,
Holding it for four and releasing it for as long as you can.
