This meditation is going to help us be completely aware of the present moment.

To find a time to do this when you won't be disturbed,

When you can be completely relaxed.

And as we're preparing for this space,

As we're cultivating this beautiful sacred space,

Whatever thoughts come and go,

Simply observe them without judgment.

Notice your breathing,

Especially the still point between your breaths.

Get in through your nose for a count of four and out for a count of six.

Don't worry if you can't do the breath for these counts,

Just do the best you can.

Just focus on inhaling and exhaling.

If thoughts intrude,

See them as beautiful,

Colorful butterflies.

Just let them go.

Let them float away,

Freeing them from your mind.

You are present now.

You are not controlled by your thoughts.

You can acknowledge them and know that they simply are.

They proceed from you,

But they do not own you.

You control your thoughts.

Recognize that and then just let it go.

Be conscious of the beat of your heart within you.

Be aware of the rhythm of your breathing.

Notice the feel of your clothing against your skin.

Feel the surface on which you sit or lie down.

Notice how your body feels against it.

Be aware of any scents that you can smell or colors that you can see.

Notice the detail in the sounds that you're hearing.

Feel the temperature of the room that you're in.

Just spend some moments simply being.

Be aware of all that is within you.

All that is within you at this very moment.

This is what it is to be mindful.

This is what it is to come back to our senses.

To heighten our sight,

Our hearing,

Our smell,

Our taste and our touch.

To fully experience the time of now.

When you're ready,

You can begin slowly bringing yourself back to the physical moment.

Remembering that you can return to the space here at any time throughout your day.

You can recenter yourself.

The word remember is what we're doing here.

It isn't simply about memory.

It's about gathering ourselves to wholeness again.

Not allowing the world and labels and people to steal our present moment.

So when you're ready,

Just begin giving yourself that space to come back.

I'm Nora Sophia.

It's been my honor to spend this time with you.
