There is a process for sleeping deeply. It starts with some beautiful practices like Sankalpa (Intention) & Kritagyata (Gratitude) to name a few, taken from the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra. It then moves on to deeper levels of our being, where we experience stillness and silence. In this meditation, Saqib will guide you through this journey from the outer world to the inner world of deep sleep. The soothing background music complements this meditation to make you experience calmness.

Hi and welcome to this meditation.

I am your relaxation and sleep guide Saqib and I will guide you in first getting into the mindset of deep rest,

Then relaxing your mind and body and then entering into a deep sleep.

Wherever you are and whoever you are,

Just know that I love you.

I strongly believe that we all are one,

Intrinsically connected to each other.

So I deeply love every sentient being and all creation and I intend to be of great service to you today.

Without any ado,

Let's get started.

See if you can shift the posture of your body in a slightly more relaxed position.

Loosen and relax the part of the body which you feel is a bit stressed.

Keep your eyes open for now.

We'll close them soon.

Okay so now,

Find a point in your line of sight and simply gaze at that point for some time.

This point may be on the roof of a wall or even some point in the dark if you can't see the wall or the roof.

Let your gaze be a soft gaze.

Don't strain your eyes.

Loosen and relax the muscles of your eyes.

Now very gradually,

Close your eyes.

Feel the presence of your body in your surroundings,

Starting from your feet.

Feel your feet's presence,

The air touching them.

The presence of your legs.

The presence of your pelvis region.

The presence of your stomach and lower back.

The presence of your hands and fingers.

Your arms.

Your chest and upper back.

Your neck.

The presence of your face.

And finally,

The top of your head.

Now let's set our sankalpa or intention for deep sleep.

I will be saying out the words of sankalpa for you and you can choose to either repeat after me or just simply listen to them.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

Now we will bring this sankalpa of ours into manifestation by visualizing it.

Visualize yourself in your imagination that you are sleeping deeply with full rest and relaxation.

See that there is peace within you.

There is a faint smile on your face while you are sleeping.

This smile is due to the deep relaxation that your mind and body has achieved.

Feel the peace and relaxation in your mind and the whole body.

And now let's be thankful.

Many of us rarely remember to consciously thank the universe or God or collective consciousness or whatever we believe in.

So this is a good opportunity to do it.

Be thankful for whatever you wish to be.

I will be silent for a couple of minutes while you complete your thanksgiving.

Now check if there are any thoughts in your mind right now.

Just be aware of them.

Imagine these thoughts as bubbles rising in front of you with each thought representing one bubble.

In your imagination burst or pop these bubbles of thought one by one with a slight touch of your finger,

Just in your imagination.

It's now time to provide ultimate relaxation to the body.

Imagine a ring of bright white light encircling your head.

This ring of light is pure loving energy.

It is the light from the source of all creation and it will provide deep rest and relaxation to whichever part of the body it moves through.

Move this ring down your face slowly towards your neck and as you move it,

Feel it relaxing each and every part of your face.

As you move it further down your neck towards your navel,

Relax each and every part of your upper body,

Including your arms and hands.

You can expand and contract the size of the ring depending upon the size of the body part through which it passes.

Now move it from your navel towards your feet.

In a similar fashion,

Move this ring upwards from your feet back to your navel.

Now from your navel to your neck,

Including your hands and arms.

From your neck to the top of your head.

Feel this ring calming down your mind even further.

Now imagine this ring expanding upwards and downwards and completely encircling your body.

It is expanding to completely cover your body in this beautiful white light.

This light is your guardian angel which always takes care of you.

It's giving you a warm embrace of love,

Compassion,

Appreciation and care.

Feel and experience this embrace of love.

It's completely filling your body with bliss.

Your guardian angel has completely merged with your body and filled it completely with love.

Somewhere deep inside you,

There's a place of silence,

A place of stillness,

A place of pure being.

Descend down to that place as I guide you.

I will be counting back from 10 to 1 and as I do so with each count,

Imagine as if you are descending one step into that place of silence,

Stillness and sleep.

Once you reach that place of pure being,

Just relax there by simply listening to the music in the background for some time as you go deeper and deeper into the world of sleep.

Let's begin.

I really liked this meditation Saqib. When you started it saying that you loved everyone I was reminded of Louis Armstrong singing: β€œI see friends shaking hands, saying how do you do, they’re really saying, I love you” Peaceful, gentle, calm and very restful. Thank you πŸ™
