When your Root Chakra is blocked or imbalanced,
It can lead to feelings of insecurity,
Anxiety,
Fear or stress,
Located at the base of your spine and based on the earth element that radiates the colour red.
A balanced Root Chakra can provide emotional strength in the face of fear and anxiety.
It results in feeling grounded,
Secure and allows us to harness courage and perseverance during challenging time.
Physical symptoms can manifest as lethargy,
Panic attacks,
Anxiety,
Digestive disorders as well as health problems in the colon,
Bladder and lower back.
It can even cause insomnia or excessive sleeping.
For this meditation I would like you to sit with your legs crossed in front of you and your seat directly on the ground beneath you,
Resting your Root into the earth below.
Close your eyes and begin to take three deep breaths,
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Imagine the colour red radiating from the ground beneath you and filling you up from the base of your spine,
Travelling through your body.
Visualise this colour red filling your body up as you breathe in and visualise yourself breathing the colour red up through your mouth.
Begin breathing this colour red through the base of your spine,
Visualise it filling your body and breathe it out through your mouth.
If you want to conquer the anxiety of life,
Breathe in the moment,
This moment and live in the breath.
Anxiety happens when you think you have to figure out everything at once.
Breathe,
You're strong,
You've got this.
Take it day by day or even hour by hour if you must.
And now let's bring in our centre in thought.
The earth provides a safe space for me.
I feel safe and secure and I trust the universe to support me.
The earth provides a safe space for me.

And now let's take some time to just go within and breathe.
Now come back to your breath,
Slowly and gently start to bring some movement back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers,
Move your neck from side to side and gently open your eyes.
Remember you've had some wins and have been knocked down with defeats.
You have glimpsed views from the top of the mountain and walked through the darkest of valleys.
Through this entire ride called life,
You have refused to give up.
Fear has two meanings,
Forget everything and run or face everything and rise.
The choice is yours.
I hope right now you choose to have the courage to rise.
Today or if you are listening to this in the evening,
Then tomorrow.
Try to take a walk outside and feel how each foot strikes the earth.
Or just get outside for a couple of minutes and stand with your feet firmly on the ground and feel the sensation of standing on the earth.
Or even just take a moment of solitude underneath the shade of a tree.
This will all bring you peace and harmony and get you grounded.
