Before we begin,
I want to introduce you to something called Grace Points,
A practice inspired by the Akashic Records tradition.
The idea is that we carry more than just physical tension.
We carry old stories,
Emotions,
Beliefs,
And experiences that may no longer serve us.
Sometimes we hold on to things without even realizing we're still carrying them.
Grace points are specific places on the hands that we gently touch or hold while bringing awareness and intention to what we're ready to release.
Whether you experience this as an energetic practice,
A meditation,
Or simply an opportunity to pause and reflect,
The invitation is the same.
We don't have to understand everything we're carrying in order to begin putting it down.
Today,
We'll move through these points slowly,
Pairing touch with breath,
Prayer,
And intention.
There's nothing to force,
Nothing to figure out,
And nothing you need to make happen.
Just a willingness to soften your grip on the past and create a little more space for grace.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable seat with support beneath you.
Let your hands rest in your lap.
Allow your eyes to close or soften your gaze toward the floor.
Feel the places where your body meets what is holding you.
Take a slow breath in.
Let it leave without effort.
Again,
Breathe in gently.
As you breathe out,
Allow your shoulders to settle.
There is nothing you need to accomplish in these next few minutes.
You can simply notice what is here and make a little room around it.
Divine Source,
Loving presence,
Meet me here exactly as I am.
Help me become quiet enough to hear my own heart.
I bring you the thoughts I keep returning to,
The worries I carry,
And the habits I am ready to understand more gently.
May grace meet the places where I have been hard on myself.
May I recognize what is ready to change and have patience with what still needs time.
As I touch these points on my hands,
Let the touch remind me that I can receive support.
Guide this practice with compassion.
Let whatever arises be met with kindness.
Let whatever softens have room to soften.
Thank you for this breath,
This body,
And this moment of willingness.
And so it is.
The first point,
The center of the palm.
Turn one palm upward.
Rest the thumb or a finger of your other hand gently in its center.
Let the touch be light.
Bring to mind one belief or recurring story that has been taking up space within you.
Choose something you feel comfortable sitting with today.
Perhaps it is,
I have to do everything myself.
I am falling behind.
I need everyone to understand me.
Let your own words emerge.
Notice how it feels to hear that story.
You do not have to argue with it.
You can acknowledge how long it has been part of your life.
Silently say,
I see the story I have been carrying.
I am willing to loosen my hold.
Breathe into the space around those words.
Divine Source,
Help me recognize the difference between an old belief and what is true for me now.
Show me where another response is possible.
Let me practice meeting myself with more generosity.
Ask yourself.
What would I like to make room for?
Perhaps trust.
Perhaps patience.
Perhaps the freedom to begin again.
Let one word accompany the next few breaths.
Release the point gently.
The second point,
The outer edge of the palm.
Move to the soft outer edge of the hand,
Between the little finger and the wrist.
Hold or squeeze this area gently.
Bring your attention to your body.
Notice your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your belly.
Where might you soften a little?
There is no need to search for an explanation.
Let sensation be sensation.
Silently say,
Dear body,
I am listening.
You do not have to become different for me to care for you.
Let your breath remain easy.
If it feels comfortable,
Allow the jaw to unclench and the hands to grow softer.
Divine Source,
Help me respond to my body with tenderness.
Help me recognize when I need rest,
When I need support,
And when I need to stop pushing.
May I offer myself that care.
For these next breaths,
Imagine setting down a heavy bag.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Let it hold some of your weight.
Nothing has to disappear.
Notice whether even a small amount of ease is available.
Release your hands.
The third point,
Between the thumb and index finger.
Gently hold the soft webbing between your thumb and index finger.
Consider something you learned growing up about who you were supposed to be.
Perhaps you learned to stay quiet,
To keep everyone happy,
To work past exhaustion,
To hide your needs.
Let one familiar pattern come into view without forcing a memory.
You can feel love for your family and still choose a different way of living.
You can appreciate what helped you survive and decide what you want to carry forward.
Silently say,
I honor the journey that brought me here.
I give myself permission to grow.
Divine Source,
Help me receive the love and wisdom available in my history.
Help me recognize the patterns I am ready to change.
Give me courage to practice a kinder way,
One choice at a time.
Ask yourself,
What would I like those who come after me to learn from the way I live?
Rest with whatever answer comes.
Perhaps your practice begins with allowing rest,
Speaking honestly,
Asking for help,
Treating yourself with respect.
You you Let go of the point.
The fourth point.
At the top of the palm,
Between the ring and little fingers.
Place a fingertip gently at the top of your palm,
Just beneath the space between your ring finger and little finger.
Notice whether someone else's expectations or opinions have been occupying your attention.
Perhaps a conversation keeps replaying.
Perhaps you are trying to solve something that belongs to another person.
You do not have to revisit every detail.
Simply notice what you have been carrying.
Silently Say.
I can care deeply and still have boundaries.
I can return my attention to my own life.
Feel your feet.
Feel your seat.
Notice the breath moving in your body.
Divine Source,
Help me recognize what is mine to tend.
Where action is needed,
Guide me toward it.
Where a boundary is needed,
Help me speak it.
Where I have done what I can,
Help me rest.
May compassion include me too.
Imagine gathering your attention back from unfinished conversations and imagined judgments.
Let it return to this room.
This breath.
The gentle contact of your hands.
For the next few moments,
Allow yourself to be here.
Release the point and rest both hands in your lap.
Notice how you feel now.
You may feel more settled.
You may feel much the same.
Whatever you notice,
Let it be enough.
Turn your palms upward if that feels comfortable.
Ask quietly,
What is one kind thing I can do for myself after this practice?
Give the answer room to arrive.
Divine Source,
Thank you for meeting me in this pause.
Help me carry this gentleness into the ordinary moments ahead.
May the space I have made become room for a wiser choice,
A clearer boundary,
A fuller breath.
May I remember that I can return to prayer,
Return to presence,
And begin again.
And so it is.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Listen to the sounds around you.
Move your fingers gently.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes and let the room come back into focus.
