Box Breathing Timer For Calm & Clarity | 4x4
by Neil Tranter
Box breathing (where the inhale, hold, exhale, and hold are all the same length) can bring a deep sense of calm within minutes, while also supporting oxygen uptake and mental clarity. Over time, it can help reset the breathing centre and nervous system for greater resilience and wellbeing. This track uses gentle piano tones to guide a 4-4-4-4 rhythm. There’s no spoken guidance—just the timing to follow in your own way. How to use: • Sit upright or lie on your back with knees bent • Breathe in and out through the nose with the timer • Inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4 • Keep the breath light, soft, and quiet • Feel a gentle movement in the lower ribs • During the holds, allow the whole body to soften and relax • Adjust the pace if needed—no need to force it • Pause anytime if needed Safety: Check with a professional if needed. Stop if uncomfortable. Avoid using while driving.
