Today's meditation is one that I think can help all of us.
It's embracing our inner selves and allowing ourselves to be authentic and really shine out to the world who we really are.
Allowing us to celebrate our victories and be excited about our lives.
This meditation is going to allow you to let go of any feelings of shame or guilt attached to the excitement and the good things in your life.
So before we begin,
Find a place where you can get settled in and you can be free from distraction for the duration of your meditation.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,
Drawing the breath down to the very bottom of your belly.
When you're ready,
Release the breath slowly through your mouth.
Breathing at your own perfect pace,
Noticing the sensation of each breath as you draw it in and release it.
Inhaling and allowing the breath to wash gently through your mind,
Relaxing your body and exhaling,
Letting go of any stress,
Letting go of any tension,
Feeling as the muscles within your body release and relax.
Each breath becoming a little bit slower,
Drawing it a little bit deeper each time.
Allowing any passing thoughts to be released with your breath.
Being aware of any areas in your body where you might be holding extra stress or tension and giving those areas permission to release and relax.
Each breath bringing you deeper and deeper into the silent stillness of relaxation.
Continuing to breathe at your own perfect pace,
Bringing your attention to your mind's eye and envisioning yourself standing in the middle of an open meadow,
Noticing the way that the grass feels beneath your feet,
The way that the air smells with a touch of wetness to it,
Like just after spring rain.
And you notice that directly in front of you is a mound and this mound is tall and made of mud and you can't tell quite what's beneath the mud but you intuitively know that there is something amazing beneath the surface.
And as you stand there in this meadow,
It begins to softly rain but the rain doesn't bother you,
Instead it is cleansing and warm and embracing.
As the rain continues to gently fall,
You watch as this mound of mud starts to slowly disintegrate.
Each obstructive layer starts to loosen,
Pieces start to gently slide down to the base of the mound and little by little,
Something that had been hiding underneath the covering of mud starts to become visible.
You see little glimmers of light poking through this mound,
Little glimmers of warm and vibrant beautiful light reflecting off the surface of what's below the mud.
And you notice that the mud is a mixture of old beliefs,
Of expectations,
Of old behaviors and limiting thoughts and the fear of judgment.
And as the rain continues to softly fall upon this mound,
More and more of this muddy mixture slips off the surface of what was hiding below.
And as more and more of this muddy mixture slips away,
You're able to see what looks like a beautiful giant diamond poking out of the surface of the mound,
Becoming less and less covered as the gentle cleansing rain continues.
Until finally,
All of the mud is gone and all that remains is a beautiful,
Uniquely vibrant diamond in front of you.
And looking a little bit closer,
You see yourself.
You see the vibrance,
The beauty,
The miraculous being,
Which is you,
That had been hiding all of this time underneath the muddy mixture,
Just waiting to emerge,
Waiting to shine to the world.
And you notice that you feel a new energy within yourself.
You feel the vibrance.
You feel the inner glow and charge as you release everything that has held you back,
Everything that has covered you from sharing all that is you with the world to celebrate.
Take a deep breath and gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing awareness gently back into your body.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
And as you go out and embrace your day,
Don't be afraid to let yourself shine.
Have a wonderful day.
Namaste.
