This is a body scan to start your morning off with presence and awareness. Wake up slowly - move your awareness through your body, visualize the morning sunlight, and allow this practice to bring your body, mind & spirit some warmth, relaxation, and gentle energy as you begin your day. This body scan is only 10 minutes and is the perfect practice to do right as you wake up. It can also be done during other times throughout the day to give you a well-deserved break. This is a short practice but feel free to stay for as long as you like after the practice ends to breathe and wake up slowly.

Good morning,

Welcome,

My name is Natalie and this is a body scan to start off your day with some presence,

With some awareness and I'll guide you through this practice nice and slow so you can bring this energy into the rest of your day.

Allow your body to sink into the comfort of the support of your bed,

Wherever you're lying down.

Allow yourself to take a slow breath in,

Filling up with breath,

With presence,

And a soft breath out.

Bring your attention to the space between your eyebrows,

The third eye center,

And visualize the light of the sun,

Perhaps it's the warm orange glow of the sunrise,

Or the bright golden sun of the day.

Visualize the sunlight in the center of your forehead,

Starting to fill your body with warmth,

Moving down through both of your eyes,

Cheeks,

Nose,

Your lips,

The tip of your tongue,

Your jaw,

The back of your tongue,

The center of your throat,

Heart center,

Brilliant beautiful light from the sun,

Glowing in the center of your chest,

Spreading warmth over to your right shoulder,

Right elbow,

Wrist,

Palm of your hand,

The back of your hand,

Thumb,

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger,

And little finger.

Imagine your fingertips filled with morning sunlight,

With warmth,

With energy.

Imagine this light and this warmth slowly moving back up your right arm,

Back through the center of your chest,

Over to your left shoulder,

Left elbow,

Wrist,

Palm of your left hand,

The back of your hand,

Thumb,

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger,

And little finger.

Brilliant light and warmth filling all the fingertips of your left hand,

Filling your left arm,

And slowly coming back to your chest.

Visualize this light down the sides of your waist,

And the rhythm of your breath,

The rise and fall,

And sense your pelvis,

Right hip,

Knee,

Ankle,

And the sole of your right foot.

First toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

And fifth toe.

Sunlight in the tips of your toes,

Moving back up your leg,

And over to your left hip,

Knee,

Ankle,

The sole of your left foot.

First toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

And fifth toe.

Sunlight in the tips of your toes,

This light fills your left leg,

And this warmth and energy of a new day moves up the length of your spine,

And filling both shoulder blades,

The back of your neck,

The back of your head,

And the top of your head.

And now imagine this glowing light from the top of your head down through your body.

Sunlight in the tips of your toes,

And imagine this light and this warmth slowly moving back up from the soles of your feet,

Through your legs,

Bringing warmth and energy,

Coming back to your chest.

Brilliant,

Beautiful light glowing in the center of your chest.

This sunlight greeting a new day,

Filling you with life,

Warmth,

Energy.

Let yourself take a full,

Slow,

Deep breath.
