Namaste,
Welcome everyone.
So happy you're here.
Please feel free to say hello in the chat and share where you are joining from today.
And if you are joining for the 40-day Savitri Gayatri Mantra Sadhana,
Perhaps place a sun emoji in the chat.
Today is a special day as we gather on the solstice.
For some of us,
This is the summer solstice.
For others,
The winter solstice.
Yet,
Wherever you are,
This moment invites us to reflect on light,
Cycles and renewal.
And because the Savitri Gayatri Mantra is ultimately a prayer for illumination,
I can think of no better day to begin this journey together.
Before we speak any further,
Let's start by chanting the classical Gayatri mantra together.
So please,
Make yourself comfortable.
And join in chanting if you like.
Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Di Mahi Ni yo yo na.
Thank you.

Homeward bound Bhuvah Swaha.
Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Di Mahe Niyo Yona Satsang with Mooji Beautiful.
Take a moment to notice how you feel and to connect with the subtle energies of the mantra.
Welcome again to the beginning of our shared 40 day Savitri Gayatri Mantra Sadhana.
And let me explain why we begin on the solstice.
The Savitri Gayatri mantra is often described as a mantra of illumination,
A prayer for clarity,
A prayer for insight.
Prayer that the light of wisdom may guide our understanding.
The mantra invokes Savitr,
The solar creative force.
Not simply the physical sun in the sky,
But the principle of awakening,
Illumination and life itself.
The solstice reminds us.
Of this relationship with light.
For some it is the longest day of the year,
For others today is the shortest day of the year.
Yet both invite reflection.
Light and Darkness activity and stillness.
Outer cycles and inner cycles.
As we begin this 40-day journey,
We have the opportunity not only to connect with the light around us,
It is also an invitation to connect with the light within.
The light of presence.
The light of wisdom.
The light that helps us see more clearly.
And so today we begin.
Not with a goal to achieve not with perfection,
But with a willingness to return to the practice day after day.
Before we begin our practice together,
I'd like to take a moment to explain what I mean when I speak about a 40-day sadhana and how this journey will work.
Some of you may have joined the mantra sadhana before.
For others this may be your first time experiencing a sadhana.
Sadhana is simply a dedicated practice.
It is an opportunity to return to the same practice regularly and allow it to reveal itself over time.
And many people begin a mantra practice hoping for immediate results.
Yet the real beauty of a mantra often unfolds gradually.
Often at first it's the sounds that we learn.
Then we learn to relax into the rhythm and over time the mantra begins to feel familiar.
You will notice that the breath settles.
The mind becomes less busy and also that the practice begins to support you in ways you may not have expected.
Over the next 40 days if you wish.
There is no need to be perfect.
If you miss a day,
Simply continue the next day.
This journey is about consistency rather than perfection.
Some of you may choose to join the live sessions.
Others may prefer to practice with the recordings.
Some may chant every day.
Others may practice a few times each week.
There is no single right way to participate.
What matters most is finding a rhythm that supports you.
And allows you to stay connected to the practice.
Please make use of the recordings whenever helpful.
You will find both a playlist and a dedicated folder with teachings and chanting practices related to the Savitri Gayatri Mantra on my profile here on Inside Timer.
And I warmly encourage you to join the Power of Mantra group here on Inside Timer as well.
Because throughout the sadhana I will be sharing daily inspirations,
Reflections,
Encouragement and updates there.
It's also a beautiful place to connect with fellow practitioners,
Share your experiences,
Ask questions and support one another along the way.
And before we begin chanting together,
Let's briefly reconnect with the mantra that will accompany us over the next 40 days.
At the beginning,
Just a few minutes ago,
We chanted the classical form of the Savitri Gayatri Mantra,
The form many of you may already know,
Starting with OM BHUR BHUVA SVAHA.
For this 40 day sadhana,
We will go one step further and practice the extended form,
The long form of the mantra.
You will find the full words of the mantra in the chat and in the session description if you'd like to follow along while we chant today.
The extended form begins with the seven Vyartis.
BHUHU BHUVAHA Suvaha.
MAHAHA.
JANAHA Tapaha.
And Sat Yam.
These seven sacred sounds are traditionally associated with seven realms of existence and some modern practitioners also explore them in connection with the seven chakras.
If you would like to learn more about the meaning,
The pronunciation and sound of the Savitri Gayatri Mantra,
You will find the full Learn and Chant series in the playlist and in the folder.
And if you already know the classical form of the mantra and would like to focus especially on the extended form and the 7 Vyartis,
Then session 5 introducing the extended form of the mantra is the perfect place to begin.
For now,
There is no need to know everything intellectually.
You're welcome to simply listen,
Chant and allow the mantra to unfold through practice.
Let's begin our chanting practice by setting an intention for this journey.
Please find a comfortable seat.
Allow the spine to be upright yet relaxed.
Let the breath move naturally.
You may wish to place a hand on your chest and close your eyes to connect deeper.
Hmm.
You could ask yourself.
Why am I here?
What called me to this practice?
What would I like to cultivate?
Explore or deepen today or during these 40 days.
There is no need to force an answer,
Simply notice what arises.
Perhaps it is more clarity.
More trust.
More inner stillness.
Or a connection.
Or perhaps something entirely different.
Take a gentle breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Different intention arises.
Allow it to settle gently in your heart.
This intention does not need to be fixed.
Can evolve and deepen throughout the journey.
Take another easy breath in.
And a long slow exhale.
Beautiful We will begin our chanting practice with the seven Viyarthis in call and response.
I will chant first and then you're welcome to repeat together with me.
Listen first.

Just noticing what remains.
Perhaps the vibration of the mantra.
A sense of spaciousness.
A feeling of connection.
Or simply the movement of your breath.
Whatever is present is welcome.
Very gently bring your awareness back to the breath and the body.
Notice the gentle movement of the inhale and the exhale.
Notice the support beneath you.
Keep your eyes gently closed if that feels comfortable for you.
You may gently bring your hands to your heart or simply rest them wherever they feel comfortable.
Let's close our practice together with Aum,
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti,
A prayer for peace.
Take a soft,
Deep inhale for all.
You Shanti Shanti Shanti.
May there be peace within.
Peace around us.
And peace for all beings.
Namaste.
