Welcome.
For this meditation I want to invite you to sit up in a really comfortable position.
Get as many pillows around you as you need to,
As you want to.
I've got a hot pack behind my sacrum.
Feels really nice.
Just make yourself so comfortable.
At one point I'm going to cue you to place your hands on your belly to connect with your baby.
If you're not pregnant yet you can still put your hands on your baby if you're trying to connect to the spirit of your child before you've conceived,
Which is a really beautiful practice.
I started doing this practice in varying forms two years before I conceived.
And it's changed since I have been pregnant.
Recording this right now I'm just about 17 weeks.
And it's my absolute joy to share it with you.
Before we begin,
I want you to take a moment and just feel the connection of your body into the ground.
Feel your sit bones on the chair,
On your bed,
Wherever you're sitting on the floor.
And let this,
This connection represent sitting on the earth,
Being held by our great mother.
And if it feels good to you,
You can slowly close your eyes.
Relax your shoulders.
Soften your face.
And come into your breath.
Gently inhale through your nose.
And exhale through your nose.
And sit with this feeling for a moment,
Reacquainting yourself,
Not just to the present moment but with your breath,
This life force that is nourishing your body,
Nourishing your baby's body.
We're going to move in really slowly.
Spending time to create an environment of peace.
Slowness,
Gentleness.
To invite comfort and invite that spirit,
The spirit that's within you,
To come closer.
Connect with you,
With their soon to be mother.
Feel the rise and fall of your belly and ribs as you inhale and exhale.
I want to invite you to add to this visualization.
The color,
Perhaps around orange,
Orange yellow or orange red.
And as you inhale,
I want you to visualize this color moving down your spine towards your sacrum.
As you exhale,
Let that color move up your spine.
Inhale,
Let it move down.
Exhale,
Let it move up.
Let this color connect from your skull to your sacrum,
Soothing your central nervous system and attuning you to your womb's energy.
As you focus on it,
Notice if there's any sensations moving up and down your spine with that feeling.
Perhaps a sensation of vitality.
Or similar to a wave moving in and out on the beach.
Stretch your focus to not just focus on your breath and this color,
But focus on the sensation as well.
This calm in and out,
Up and down.
Attune in yourself to your womb energy and to the energy of the spirit inside you,
Inside your belly.
And if it feels good,
I want to invite you now to place your hands on your stomach.
And take that color and surround your belly.
It might be orange,
It might be more of a yellow or more of a red.
You'll know what feels best when you find that color.
Maybe it's a different color.
When you've found it,
Surround your womb with a shell,
Protective energy of this color.
Let it fill your womb.
Surround your baby.
Perhaps imagine it pulsating with your inhale and exhale as alive and vibrant as you and your baby inside of you.
Call out to your baby,
Perhaps just saying I love you,
Or that you're so excited to meet this being,
To know their spirit.
Take a moment to invite them closer.
Without moving towards them,
Give them the opportunity to move towards you.
Sitting patiently,
Offering space and respect for who they are in their spirit.
Give the attention of listening to the spirit,
The spirit of the baby inside you.
Opening your heart,
Your mind,
Your ears and your intuition to anything they need to say,
Anything they need to tell you before they come into this world.
While you listen,
Continue to fill your womb with that strong,
Supportive and safe energy.
A mother's energy.
Note that your baby might not speak to you in words.
You might have feelings rise up,
Sensations within your body,
Or images come to your mind's eye.
Open yourself to whatever kind of communication they're offering.
And take note of this communication.
Giving you insight to how they might communicate with you in their early days,
In their infancy.
Continue to listen and be there,
Giving the energy of love,
Of respect for the spirit and deep acceptance.
You can invite the spirit to stay with you throughout the day,
Throughout your pregnancy,
Throughout your life together.
You might invite the spirit to come back,
Come closer anytime they need,
That you'll always be here.
Even if they don't want to stay with you all the time.
And notice if there's a feeling of closeness right now,
Where if that energy is moving away,
Wherever they are,
Just offer them thanks and gratitude.
And again,
Fill your womb with that strong energy,
Safe,
Supportive,
So your baby can rest in their home.
With the intention of keeping that energy there throughout the day,
Draw yourself back into your spine.
Once again,
Imagine the movement of energy with your inhale and exhale,
Inhaling the color down from your skull all the way to your sacrum.
All the way down your spine.
As you exhale,
Visualize that color moving up your spine,
Supporting that continuous flow of energy,
Vitality,
And nourishment through your body to your womb throughout the day.
Again,
Focus on any sensations that are arising for you through that area.
Perhaps a wave-like sensation moving up and down your spine.
Perhaps a sensation that you can't quite put words into,
Just vitality,
Energy.
And bring yourself back further still to focus once again on the points of contact between your body and your seat,
Your feet and the floor.
And come back to that representation of your seat being on the earth,
That you are held by the Great Mother,
Held by this earth,
Held by nature.
Witness yourself as part of this circle,
You and your baby as part of nature.
Slowly,
Take a deep inhale through your nose.
Exhale out of your mouth now,
Releasing any emotion,
Sending gratitude out with your breath.
And then inhale deeply.
And exhale sigh.
Take a moment to expand your senses to not just the areas of your body in contact with the floor or your seat.
The small skin of your body,
Where it connects with your clothing.
Perhaps your hair on your cheek.
Where there is warmth or coolness.
And then find your focus back to the present moment,
The external reality.
As you feel ready.
Slowly slide your eyes open keeping them soft.
And have a look around you.
Witness the colors that you see,
The textures,
The way the light touches the things around you,
Forming shadows and brightness.
Look at your walls,
The floor and the ceiling,
The structure of your home,
The safety around you.
Slowly,
Take a deep inhale.
One last time.
And exhale sigh.
