Healing Your Inner Critic – A Somatic IFS Meditation
by Miriam Amavi
In this somatic IFS meditation, we meet the inner part that comments, judges, and tries to make everything perfect. This critical part can often feel strict, yet it usually carries a protective intention. When it becomes especially loud, it often signals that something in the nervous system feels unsafe, and control emerges as an attempt to create safety. In this meditation, we don’t fight the critic. Instead, we approach it with curiosity and begin to understand its function. Through understanding and acknowledgment, its tension can begin to soften. A part that feels seen no longer needs to be so loud. This creates more inner space, allowing the critic to return to a more constructive and supportive role.
