Sunset naturally sends powerful signals to the brain and nervous system that the day is ending and it is time to prepare for sleep. The dimming light and warm red-orange tones encourage the body to begin shifting out of daytime alertness and into a slower, more restful state. For this meditation, Christopher intentionally darkened the video and placed a deep red-orange glowing sun behind him to help recreate some of those visual cues associated with sunset and winding down for sleep. During the meditation, Christopher guides you through a body scan using the imagery of golden sunset light slowly moving through the body, helping release muscular tension and encouraging deeper physical relaxation. Please note: As this practice encourages deep relaxation, please do not listen while driving or operating heavy machinery.
