Hello,
And welcome to this mind over endopain meditation.
Thank you so much for joining me today,
And trusting me to help you through this very tough moment.
I'm so,
So sorry you're in so much pain right now.
You don't deserve this.
And we're going to work together to get you safe.
I promise.
I've got you.
Let's just start by getting comfortable,
Lying down if you can,
And just gently closing your eyes.
And just feel your head,
Shoulders,
Belly,
And full body slowly relaxing,
And hopefully starting to settle down.
The pain has very likely dysregulated your nervous system,
And put you deep into fight or flight.
So we'll just start with 3 deep belly breaths to bring us back to a state of calm.
So when you're ready,
Let's just do a deep belly breath in through the nose,
Expanding the belly.
Then just do an extra quick inhale through the nose to fill all the way up.
And a long sigh out.
Again,
Just a deep belly breath in through the nose,
Expanding the belly.
And an extra quick inhale through the nose to fill all the way up.
And a really long sigh out.
Last time,
Just a deep belly breath in through the nose,
Expanding the belly.
And an extra quick inhale.
And a long sigh out.
Just feel your body melting into the surface below.
Great job.
Now hopefully you've taken the necessary medicine,
Or are wearing your TENS device.
Either way,
We're going to work with the body and brain to turn down the volume knob on the pain.
So let's begin by distracting the brain a bit,
And just imagining the medication you've taken are the brain's natural painkillers coursing through your nervous system.
Now,
I'm not entirely sure how medications work in the body,
I've been told the liver is involved at some level.
But let's just visualize the healing,
Soft white light of relief running through your veins,
Relaxing every part of your body,
Starting from the top of your head,
Moving slowly down your face,
Softening your brow and jaw,
Down to your neck,
Your shoulders allowing them to drop from your ears,
Flowing to your chest,
Arms,
Legs,
And fully forming as a massive light over your pelvis and stomach.
Watch as this white light gently loosens and absorbs the sensations,
With every breath in,
And out.
Continuing with your deep breaths,
I want you to imagine a volume knob placed perfectly on your belly button.
This is your pain volume knob.
The brain has mistakenly left it on maximum volume,
Must have sat on it by accident or something,
I don't know.
But we're just going to turn the sound down on the pain,
And off completely.
Just to remind the brain that we're safe,
And those signals aren't helping anyone.
Gently placing your hands on your belly button,
I want you to begin to turn it down.
This can be clockwise or counterclockwise,
Depending on if you're in the northern or southern hemisphere,
Best not to overthink it.
But we're just going to turn it down,
Letting the brain know that the pain response is not necessary.
We're safe now.
Hear the knob click,
As the volume on the pain starts to fade away,
More,
And more.
Breathing deeply in,
And out.
Just feel your body relaxing,
Releasing the pain and tension with every breath.
You're doing so great.
Just keep those breaths going,
Watching as they soothe your whole body,
Allowing it to sink into the surface below.
Finally,
Pulling us out of this state of fear.
And as we lay here,
Gently remind yourself that you're a human being,
And unfortunately society often expects us to always be a human doing.
But it's so important,
Especially for us endo-warriors,
To frequently stay in the being mode.
Staying with your breath and body.
Always listening to what it needs,
Even if it's extremely loud.
Just stay here a bit longer.
Keep breathing deeply in,
And out.
Watching as your body falls deeper and deeper into relaxation.
You're doing so great.
And before we gently come out of this meditation,
I want you to visualize that white light from earlier continuing to absorb all the pain,
And fully removing it from your body.
One breath at a time.
And just gently place your hands on your heart,
And softly tell your body,
I am safe.
We are safe.
The pain will go away soon.
I can feel it leaving.
I love you.
I'm here.
And I've got you now.
Hopefully the pain has subsided,
Or is gone completely.
Either way,
We'll place our hand back down,
And do two more really deep breaths to ease any residual tension the light just wasn't able to target.
So just take a nice deep belly breath in through the nose,
An extra quick inhale,
And a long exhale out.
Last time,
A nice deep breath in through the nose,
Expanding the belly,
An extra quick inhale,
And a long exhale out.
We'll wiggle the fingers and toes,
Give ourselves a nice gentle stretch.
And slowly,
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Just remember that the universe,
And your body,
Are here to take care of you.
And just because it's like this today,
Doesn't mean it will be tomorrow,
Or even 10 minutes from now.
And if you can feel pain coming on again,
And hopefully it won't,
Just remember to return to the body.
Breathe deeply into the sensations.
Turn towards yourself,
And turn that pain volume knob down.
And just be so gentle with yourself,
As unfair as it is.
Reminding your body that it's safe,
That you're in control now,
And it'll all be okay.
My heart is with you,
My warrior.
Go on now,
You've got this.
