You are listening to a hypnotic sleep story and guided meditation,
The Lighthouse.
Within this journey,
As in all hypnosis,
You are in charge of how deep you go and where you allow yourself to be taken as you unwind at the end of the day.
This story will bring you on a late summer's adventure along the lapping waves of the Atlantic Ocean to your own little island.
So find a safe place where you may lay down,
Cuddle up,
And drift away to sleep at your lighthouse retreat.
For the best experience,

Find a safe place,
Allowing your body to feel heavy and relaxed,
Easing into your bed,
Shifting and snuggling down as you shake off any last impressions of your day.
And as you listen,
Remembering that I am merely a guide.
And you may think of my voice as the voice of an old friend and a voice that represents your intentions for the deepest relaxation,
Setting aside any of the thoughts and remnants you have about your day and about tomorrow as you focus on right now.
And whenever you hear the words right now,
You find your relaxation doubling and your comfort level increasing,
Drifting in,
Getting closer to the dark stillness inside of you.
As this is your time,
Alone for you and your own thoughts and your own opportunity for self renewal and healing as you fall asleep,
You may now turn to your breath,
Taking over control of this function of the body that can be voluntary or involuntary,
Helping you ease into a deeper state of relaxation.
Just empty out all your air until the deepest part of your belly collapses.
You may now inhale for one,
Two,
Three and exhale for three,
Two,
One.
Inhale for one,
Two,
Three and exhale for three,
Two,
One.
Now this time you may exhale for double the amount of time that you took to inhale.
Empty out all your air and inhale for one,
Two,
Three.
Exhale for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Perfect.
You may now sense a lightness in your heart center.
You're feeling more at ease and you begin your journey to the lighthouse.
You may visualize yourself seated inside a rowboat that comes to the pebble shore of a small island and this island provides the foundation for a grand striped lighthouse.
The Sun is an orange orb gradually beginning to set along the horizon at the end of this late summer's day.
And though the air is still tepid and humid,
You sense the sharp,
Cool,
Autumn-like air that will meet you as the Sun goes down.
But right now it is still lovely and the sapphire waves are sun-kissed as though honey has been poured upon them.
These waves are gently leading you to the shore.
You use the orb to guide yourself through the shallow waters,
Inhaling deeply.
Oh the fragrant salinity of the warm Atlantic waters meets your nose.
And as you reach the pebble shore,
You step your bare feet and legs into the salt water,
Welcoming the tingling sensation from the salt.
Dragging your rowboat to shore,
You have a sense that this could be the last opportunity you have to comfortably enjoy a late summer swim.
So before heading back to your lighthouse,
You safely dock your boat and undress to your swimwear as you dive into the lapping waters.
Feeling the aliveness in your fingers and toes and arms and legs as you dive in.
Catching your breath in the cool water swimming around the small island.
And you turn onto your back,
Tasting the salt water on your lips as the tiny droplets of sea water on your lashes appear like golden drops as you watch the Sun drifting beyond the horizon.
Floating gently along the island,
Close to the shore,
But far enough away to appreciate the majesty of the lighthouse you call home.
Feeling strong and healthy,
You swim towards the shore as the Sun disappears for the day.
The beacon of light illuminates from the lighthouse,
Coming on almost intuitively as you come to the pebbled beach.
You step and feel the cool stones massaging your tired feet,
Releasing all tension from them.
Walking towards the lighthouse,
You come to the outdoor shower on your own little island and step under the hot streaming water,
Washing away the salt and the day you've left behind.
Bows of eucalyptus hang around the cedar walls of the shower,
Creating an intoxicating fragrance with a salty air that helps to relax you further right now.
Your muscles and joints are melting like softened wax,
Releasing and making you realize how tired you feel.
Outside the shower,
A plush clean towel and rope await you and you bundle up against the cooler night air.
Stepping your feet into a pair of soft slippers,
You walk along the stoned path to the entryway of the lighthouse.
The twilight sky is a deep sapphire as glittery stars and a crescent moon contrast against the night sky.
And you enter the first floor of your lighthouse,
Taking in the cozy furnishings of the living room.
You decide to climb to the top for one last peek at the night sky,
Finding the first of spiral stairs to guide you up.
And with each step,
You find yourself feeling more and more tired,
More ready to unwind and bed down for the night.
And so you continue to the second floor,
Past the kitchen and dining area,
Counting the second set of steps.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
With each step,
You continue,
Feeling more and more relaxed and at ease and so happy to have this special home safe,
Secure.
Stepping to the third floor where your soft plush bed with a patchwork quilt awaits.
Yet still you continue,
The last narrowing,
Winding spiral staircase that leads you to a parapet,
Which you open into the tower.
Sitting below the beacon of light,
Shining out across the harbor and sea,
You look out into the glistening darkness,
Mesmerized by the stars above and the beacon of light shining on the dark waters below.
As you close your eyes,
Inhaling deeply the briny air and exhaling right now.
Feeling the beacon of light that is deep inside of you,
Finding the stillness within that houses your inner spirit,
Connecting to yourself,
Envisioning how you too may go about your life as a beacon of light.
Feeling a warmth in your heart center as you open your eyes and watch the light continuing to shine on.
And whenever doubts or concerns in your waking life come up,
Whenever you need to remember how special and unique you are,
Your mind will drift to this gentle memory.
This kind thought of what it is like to just shine,
To just let the light warm you from the inside out.
And how wonderful it is to inhabit this beacon of safety,
Thinking of how many lives throughout time relied and celebrated the light shining from this lighthouse.
And how you too can learn from this and be a beacon of light and safety,
Emanating warmth and peace.
And feeling so tired,
Looking up to the crescent moon and stars one last time,
You begin down the stairs to your bed,
Taking off your slippers,
Collapsing into the bed,
Sinking into the plush feather topper.
And around you the room glows by colorful lanterns hanging around the exposed brick walls,
Gradually coming to a dim.
Behind the bed is an octagon window made of colorful stains glass.
And you open it to allow the night air to cool the room,
The briny fragrance of the Atlantic drifting in as you hear the lapping waves outside,
Relaxing and going deeper and deeper down.
Feeling safe and snug,
Perhaps there is a pet who shares this lighthouse with you if this is something you would enjoy.
And this furry friend comes up the stairs to join you for a slumber,
Cuddling at your feet,
Warming them.
And you continue into the state of relaxation,
Feeling heavy,
Drifting towards maritime dreams,
Your eyelids like shutters,
Closing for the night as you drift further down.
Feeling the space between your muscles and joints,
The space between your vertebra,
Between your fingers and toes,
And in the space welcoming in a healing and warm light like the light of the lighthouse.
Deep resonating feelings and ties to a sense of home and stillness and safety.
Start at the core of your being and radiate through your limbs out your toes and fingers to the crown of your head,
Tingling warmly all over like electric pulses,
Bringing with them contentment and an ease of being.
And your mind is drifting to this ethereal dreamlike state,
Feeling a gentle wind blowing across the bed,
Bringing with it inspiration for the good dreams that await you.
Right now,
You feel tranquility and peace,
Closing your eyes as the heaviness of your lids is weaning over any desire to stay awake.
Drifting and drifting,
The sounds of the lapping waves have a gentle hypnotic effect.
And as you close your eyes,
Memories of joy come flooding to you,
Feeling a warm tingling sensation all over,
Feeling so heavy,
So relaxed,
So in tune with the sacred harmony with the sea,
With the night,
With your safe haven nestled into the pillows,
Still at peace and full of gratitude,
Knowing that any time you may bring yourself to the state of ease as you inhale and exhale and how good it feels to have something existing just for you,
Nurturing and kind and so very much deserved.
Happy and warm,
Serene and grateful,
Succumbing to the moment as the tiredness takes over and you may rest.
Breathing in and breathing out,
You are free to drift,
Drift further and further away to a dreamy world,
Shadows dancing around you from the dimly lit lanterns along the walls,
Beautiful and serene and you are floating deeper and deeper down,
Drifting away,
Closer to sleep as you inhale and exhale,
Finding surrender if anyone were to witness this moment or you were to rise above and peer into this scene from the outside looking in,
You would see the soft sleeping face of a person who is so very happy and relaxed,
So safe and snuggled into a beautiful magical place for respite.
High atop this lighthouse tower,
You are connected to the sea and closer to the stars as if sleeping among them,
Floating above the salt water waves and you will fall into a sleep with dreams that are harmonious with a natural beauty that surrounds you,
The air offering a freshness that purifies you within as you inhale and exhale deeply,
Finding sleep and it makes all of right now easy to let go and you can drift asleep and do all that you need to do to heal and recover from the day.
This is your time for restoration,
To prepare for tomorrow where you will have the great fortune of a new day with more adventures waiting for you as you let go right now,
Drifting down,
Down,
Down,
Letting your consciousness drift away with the last of the summer winds into the night,
Traveling,
Finding rest and ease,
Finding enchantment.
