Create the environment to fully relax.
It may help to set an alarm so that you can let go of space and time.
Pause the meditation and come back if you need to.
Begin by lying down comfortably.
Let your whole body soften into the surface beneath you.
Take a slow breath in through the nose,
And an easy breath out,
Again inhaling through the nose,
And exhaling through the mouth.
Let the day so far fall away.
There is nothing to solve right now.
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to manage.
In this moment,
There is just this breath.
Just this body.
Just this moment.
Feel the weight of yourself resting here.
Let your shoulders soften.
The jaw unclench.
Let your belly relax.
Bring your attention to your breath.
No need to change it.
Just notice.
With each exhale,
Let yourself drop a little deeper into rest.
A little softer,
A little quieter.
If thoughts arise,
Let them pass.
Let them come and go.
If feelings arise,
Allow them to be here.
You do not need to fix anything right now.
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to begin again.
Now imagine a wave of ease moving slowly through your body,
Softening the forehead,
The eyes,
The jaw,
Releasing the neck,
The shoulders,
The chest,
Softening the belly,
The hips,
The legs,
The feet.
Let the whole body rest.
Let the breath be slow and natural.
Let yourself be held here for a few quiet moments.
And now before you return,
Take a moment to set the tone for what comes next.
I invite you to say quietly in your mind,
I reset,
I replenish,
I choose again,
I am allowed to take a moment to restore,
Renew,
Replenish,
I choose again,
I return to my day with clarity and calm.
Now,
Take a deeper breath in and a slow breath out.
Begin to invite a little more energy back into the body.
Notice the surface beneath you.
Become aware of the room around you.
Gently wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
You might like to take a moment to stretch the arms overhead or roll the shoulders.
When you're ready,
Rolling to the left-hand side,
Keeping the eyes gently closed,
As you slowly come up to sitting.
Take one final breath in.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you for practicing with me.
Namaste.
