Start by finding a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down,
Close your eyes gently and take a deep breath in through your nose,
Exhale slowly through your mouth,
Releasing any tension you might be holding.
As you continue to breathe gently,
Bring your awareness to the sensation of your breath entering and leaving your body,
Feel the rise and fall of your abdomen with each breath.
Now let's begin by releasing tension in the head,
Imagine a warm soothing light above you,
Like a gentle sunbeam slowly descending down toward your head,
As it touches your head envision it melting away any tension or discomfort.
Feel your forehead,
Temples and scalp relaxing.
Now let's move our focus to the face,
Bring your attention to your jaw,
Notice if you're clenching it,
Consciously let it relax,
Allow your tongue,
Mouth,
Cheeks,
Eyes and eyebrows to soften,
Feel any tension in your face melting away with each breath.
Concentrate your attention to your neck,
Imagine a soft golden light gently warming your neck muscles,
Feel any stiffness or tightness melting away as you relax your neck,
Allow your head to become heavy,
Sinking into a state of deep relaxation.
Now let's bring our awareness to the shoulders,
These are often areas where we carry a lot of tension,
With each breath visualize a warm soothing light bathing your shoulders,
Feel the tension melting away like ice turning into water,
Continue to breathe deeply and evenly and notice how much lighter and more relaxed your head,
Face,
Neck and shoulders feel.
You've let go of any discomfort or remaining tension in these areas,
Take a moment to revel in this sense of relaxation,
Allowing it to spread through your entire body,
Feel a sense of tranquility washing over you.
You are allowed to let go,
You are allowed to relax,
You are allowed to feel.
As we come to the end of the meditation,
Slowly start to become aware of your surroundings,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
When you're ready open your eyes.
