Day 8 (of 30). Replacement is about making this change easier for yourself and not add extra struggle to an already challenging experience. Things are being disrupted and displaced, which is good. You are changing how you used to do things but during this process things might need to shift or be replaced. Replacing helps with the feeling of void or emptiness that can sometimes come with a challenge like this. Make things work for you and stay the course.

Today is about replacement.

As you start to make changes,

There is this sometimes subtle or sometimes not so subtle ripple out effect that happens within you and around you.

Things are being disrupted and displaced,

Which is good.

You are changing how you used to do things.

But during this process,

Things might need to shift or be replaced.

It is all about strategy.

Creating strategies that will help you make difficult scenarios easier will come in handy during this process.

Destruction and creation travel together.

So it's usually gonna get messy before it gets cleaned up.

So having some techniques to use along the way can make the messy more manageable.

For instance,

When I decided not to drink alcohol for a year,

In the beginning,

I would ask the server to pour my water in my wine glass.

Or at home,

I would drink cranberry juice in a wine glass while I poured wine for my guests.

One thing I realized,

No one cares.

And in the end,

You inspire people with your discipline.

Or when I decided to do 30 days of yoga,

I replaced my morning routine that took a long time with the morning yoga class.

There are many ways to look at this and to do this.

The idea is that you get out of the mindset that you are missing out on something,

But rather experiencing something else in a new way.

Replacing helps with the feeling of void or emptiness that can sometimes come with a challenge like this.

Over time,

You will learn that the void is a necessary step in the creation process.

The law of sacrifice states that you must give up something of lower value for something of higher value.

And sometimes there is a time lag where you are in between the two.

It's uncomfortable at first,

Then you love it because you know something new is on its way.

Replacement is about making this change easier for yourself and not adding extra struggle to an already challenging experience.
