Good evening,

Opulent mindfulness.

Welcome.

Today's meditation is a focus on a certain brain hack.

I'm calling it I am a champion because I experienced this morning while making my way towards Central Park for a morning run,

How I started kind of yelling at people under my breath,

People blowing smoke in my face and not paying attention to where they were walking or dogs urinating right in my path or whatever the issue was.

And I realized,

Wait a minute,

I don't want to have a negative tone in my mind and in my body and in my spirit,

My being.

I'd rather shift that in the moment to a positive,

Uplifting experience.

There's no reason to go negative.

We can always rewire the brain toward positive.

So in the moment where I start to judge even myself,

Others having that negative conversation,

I changed the vernacular immediately to I am a champion.

Thank you Carrie Underwood for your inspirational song.

And in this way,

We move untethering ourselves from fear and negativity and judgment to a place of elevation,

Possibility and inspiration.

So drop into your comfortable seat.

Press down through your base,

Lift your heart high,

Sit up tall and take a big belly breath in and an even longer silky breath out.

Close your eyes if you're ready,

Resting your palms upward in your lap.

We'll begin.

So step one is to first notice,

Become aware that this voice is happening,

This judgment,

This internal rant.

And then before we get mindlessly carried away,

We stop short,

Change,

Insert a new and uplifting mantra.

I am a champion.

Press down through your comfortable base,

Lift your heart high,

Take a big belly breath in and a long and soothing breath out.

Step two is forgiveness.

Forgiveness for being judgmental,

Forgiveness for being negative,

Forgiveness for not choosing compassion.

It's okay.

Over the years,

We've slowly been wiring our brains to focus on zero in on negativity.

It's the new mechanism for survival,

But it doesn't need to be so.

I am a champion.

Is it happening for you?

Yes.

Press down through your base,

Lift your heart high,

Take a big belly breath in and a long and comforting breath out.

And now step three.

With your heightened awareness and with your newfound forgiveness,

Chances are we're going to notice others who don't choose to elevate and choose to spiral reactively toward the negative.

This is a critical moment where we could judge them for not being aware.

In fact,

This is a fantastic opportunity to again chant your mantra,

Rewire your brain,

Finding compassion for this person and where they are on their journey.

And if possible,

Maybe taking a hiatus from spending time with people who don't choose to elevate their minds and their consciousness,

Offering warm and loving space and then maybe some distance in that space.

I think you'll find that the new mindset becomes very infectious and especially attractive.

Relax your body into considering this new shift,

This change that you're embarking upon if you are so interested.

Nothing to be done yet.

Just considering possibility,

Planting seeds for change.

Press down through your base,

Lift your heart high,

Take a big belly breath in and expand way out into your being and then exhale and soften in this expanded state.

Soften on the inside.

So reminding ourselves that this is not a call for complacency.

When we see things or experience things that we don't like,

Don't care for,

It's a call to get right in our own heads and in our own hearts so that we can express ourselves from a place of compassion.

This is coming from a very sustainable place where anything we advise or consult on is more likely to be adopted and enacted.

First experiencing what it feels like to have compassion towards self.

It's a beautiful gift and a wonderfully loving act.

Think about how good it would feel to receive that level of compassion.

Press down through your base,

Lift your heart high,

Take a big belly breath in and drop into your bones,

Exhale.

Step one,

Forgiveness.

Sorry,

Step one,

Awareness.

Step two,

Forgiveness.

Step three,

Compassion.

Step four,

Activation.

So drop that nice,

Beautiful,

Powerful mantra right into your voice.

Let your heart sing.

Say it loud.

Say it brightly.

Say it clearly and say it often.

Namaste.
