Welcome fellow menopause sister.
I am so grateful you are here joining me for this 30 day meditation for menopause challenge.
My name is Melissa Hyde from the Menopause Reset and I'll be your guide during this challenge.
Meditation is an effective way for you to manage the physical and emotional challenges of menopause.
By promoting relaxation,
Reducing stress and anxiety,
And improving sleep and mood,
Meditation can help you feel more balanced and in control during this transitional time.
Today is day number 13.
Find a comfortable seated position where your spine is tall but relaxed.
Close your eyes.
Place your left hand on your stomach and your right hand on your heart.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And then exhale through your mouth,
Helping your entire body to relax.
As you continue to breathe,
Focus on your chest and stomach expanding as you inhale and then fall as you exhale.
The focus of today's meditation is on creating a positive body image.
Menopause is a time of transition and it can be accompanied by changes in the body that can be challenging to accept.
However,
With the practice of meditation,
We can learn to cultivate self-love and acceptance for our bodies and appreciate their beauty and uniqueness during this time of change.
I want you to bring your attention to your body and any changes you may be experiencing during menopause,
Such as weight gain or hot flashes.
Observe any negative thoughts or self-talk that may be coming up.
Instead of engaging with these thoughts or trying to push them away,
Allow them to be present and observe them with curiosity and non-judgment.
As you continue to breathe,
I want you to focus on your body.
And your favorite physical attribute.
And still focusing on your physical body,
I want you to focus on something that you are so proud that your body is capable of doing.
And with your next breath,
I want you to embrace the present moment and your body,
Knowing that it is unique and beautiful just as it is,
Even with the changes of menopause.
Know that you are beautiful and worthy of love and acceptance at all times.
Know that you are beautiful and worthy of love and acceptance at all times.
That your body is strong and resilient.
Allow these words to sink into your mind and heart whenever you notice any negative thoughts or self-talk coming up.
Remember that your body is an amazing and beautiful creation that deserves love and acceptance even during times of change.
Bring this sense of peace and self-love you have cultivated in this meditation into your day.
And continue to focus on a positive body image and appreciation for your unique beauty even during the transition of menopause.
And now,
In your mind's eye,
I want you to picture your beautiful face.
Your beautiful face.
And I want you to repeat each of these affirmations after me,
Out loud.
My body is strong and capable,
And I honour it for all that it has done for me.
I choose to love and accept my body at every stage of life,
Including during menopause.
My body is going through changes during menopause,
But those changes do not define my worth or beauty.
I am grateful for my body and all that it has allowed me to experience in life.
I am worthy of love and respect,
No matter what my body looks like during menopause.
I am beautiful and confident,
And I embrace my unique shape and size.
I am at peace with my body,
And I appreciate it for all the ways it supports me every day.
I am kind to myself and treat my body with the respect and care it deserves.
I am healthy and strong,
And I trust my body to take care of itself during menopause.
I am worthy of feeling confident and beautiful in my own skin,
No matter what stage of life I am in.
When you are ready,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Roll your shoulders back and down.
Slowly begin to blink your eyes open.
Congratulations on completing today's meditation.
