Super, super class that talks deeply about to deal with many things..not just how to deal w panic attacks. What about the importance of decluttering so you don't fall into a state of panic when uou can't find things you value or cause you to beat yourself up, maybe hearing the voice of your mother, a critical dubling or "friend" belittling your efforts. What do you say to these people? All this and more is covered in this third class. You are extremely articulate, use humor and speak from the heart. Thank you so much. I just left a Caregiver job that harmed me & my 89 yo client in so many ways. He has a brother who is a toxic person who was trying to call all the shots. He left dangerous black mold in my client's shower, blocked the front door w his"TV chair" and yelled at me that I'd BETTER give his brother a shower on a day the bro didn't WANT a shower because he was weak and could barely walk down the stairs that day into the moldy shower. He said he knew he was a fall risk. Some days were better than others. I calmly asked the bro if his bro could walk. (Answer: "Yes.") So, my client got his shower but I got yelled at. The bro told lies about the sequence of events and said that I was "bossy" when I was just doing my job. He was actually the bossy one talking rudely to me (Projection)! I am still grieving a week later but I only miss my client. We have so much in common, Sat outside together almost every shift to talk and enjoy the nice weatherand talk. I was lucky to have had the pleasure of his company for 3 years. He was always nice to me & extremely polite. He had to walk on egg shells around his bro, who owned both houses and the house next to them & charged my client rent and all the utilities. My client, a veteran, was only getting $700/month to live on. By the time he paid his bro, there was nothing left. I am still grieving a week later but only miss my client. The agency believed the brother's lies and fired me. The company has done illegal things and is a revolving door. Many employees have left after only a week. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education and more than 15 years of caregiving experience. The other agencies that have placed me said I was their best Caregiver. They didn't have enough hours after my client died and during COVID; so I applied to this agency and got a bad apple, that's all. My previous clients & their families loved me; we are still in touch and have visited each other. My husband became very ill a month ago. They are not sure what is but have started him on a course of treatment for the 2nd time This time, it seems to be working. I am taking the Summer off from working so I can help him. These things and more are enough to give ANYONE panic attacks. I get mild ones in the morning but stave them off w meds, walks and a cup of coffee w my husband as soon as I get up in the morning. By mid-morning, I'm fine. Thank you for this panic attacks class. It presented me with new ideas and attitudes that will help me.
