Held is a 7-day self-paced somatic journey designed to help you restore ease and reconnection between body and mind. Each day blends reflection, guided meditation and simple nervous system practices to support grounding, release tension and increase embodied awareness. Through this process you will explore how sensations, memories and emotions are held within the body, learning to listen and respond with care. You will be guided to meet yourself with honesty, compassion and curiosity, gently unwinding stress patterns and cultivating presence. Whether you are moving through overwhelm, transition or simply longing to feel at home in yourself, Held offers a space to land, breathe and return to stillness.


Meet your Teacher

Niamh O’Shea is an integrative practitioner with a background in psychology, somatic practice, and holistic healing. Her work draws from transpersonal psychology, nervous system regulation, and creative process to support gentle reconnection between body and mind. As a trained somatic practitioner with extensive study in mind-body healing, coaching, and trauma-informed care, she brings over two decades of experience in both creative and therapeutic fields. Niamh’s approach blends reflection, embodiment, and creativity to help others cultivate presence, clarity, and self-trust.

This lesson introduces interoception, the ability to sense your internal world through breath, sensation, and subtle nervous system cues. You will learn how the body communicates long before the mind forms thoughts, and how to recognise small shifts that show your true state. This session supports deeper self-awareness and a more compassionate relationship with your body.

Titration And Building Capacity

This lesson explores titration and capacity, two core principles in somatic healing. You will learn why small, manageable doses of sensation support the nervous system more effectively than intensity, and how working at the edge of your limits helps your body integrate change safely. This session introduces titration, capacity and pendulation in a gentle and trauma-informed way, helping you understand how to meet your inner experience without overwhelm.

Finding Safety In The Body

This lesson explores how the body recognises safety through small physical cues such as softening, grounding and the gentle settling of the breath. You will learn how safety is experienced in the nervous system, why grounding supports regulation, and how to work with the signals that help your body return to steadiness. This session offers a calm and trauma-informed approach to building a sense of inner safety.

Meeting Emotion In The Body

This lesson explores how emotion first appears as sensation in the body and how to meet those sensations without overwhelm. You will learn how to recognise the physical shapes of emotion, why the nervous system can shut down or intensify during strong feelings, and how titration supports safe emotional processing. This session offers a gentle, body-based way to understand and move through emotion with more ease.

Self Regulation And Co Regulation

This lesson explores how the nervous system settles through both self regulation and co regulation. You will learn how the body responds to supportive presence, why connection creates a sense of safety, and how to use grounding, breath and gentle awareness to steady yourself. This session offers a calming and trauma-informed understanding of how we soothe and are soothed.

Integration And Returning To Yourself

This final lesson explores integration, the gentle process of allowing your body to absorb what you have learned over the past days. You will reflect on the shifts in your breath, your awareness and your sense of safety, and understand how healing continues long after the course ends. This session offers a soft closing, a moment of gratitude, and an invitation to keep moving at your own pace with the practices that support you.

What an absolute joy this course was. Understanding the nervous system allows me to understand self. A new teacher for me. Right up there with Sarah Blondin as far as the feelings of comfort I get listening to her voice!! I love the use of the microphone filters…the slight echo, the slight delay. I love how she uses her own beautiful singing or humming entwined in some of the meditations. And quality information presented in a way I could easily understand!
