During this 10-day course, we will explore self-care and how we can use music as a self-care tool. We will explore key areas of self-care: physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, professional, and environmental, as well as themes such as prosperity and abundance. Joseph's beautiful piano music alongside tangible techniques serve to reminder us of the importance of self-care, as well as how to integrate it into our everyday lives.


Meet your Teacher

Award-winning pianist and composer Joseph Nimoh creates beautiful music which relaxes the mind as it gently soothes and uplifts the spirit. Joseph believes that music can heal. His musical journey has taken him from classical to jazz, gospel, world, and pop, to today, where he feels his music does the best work by helping to calm, soothe and heal through his meditation music. Joseph studied piano with Bob Christopherson at the Berklee College of Music. Primary among Joseph’s influences are Oscar Peterson, George Duke, and Russell Ferrante. Joseph has released eight albums. Joseph’s music can be heard across various radio stations and digital streaming platforms.

A sound mind is in a sound body. You need to take care of your body if you want to function efficiently. In this lesson, we will talk about what is physical self-care and the various aspects, such as physical activity, diet, sleep, rest and health. We also take about how we can leverage the power of music to aid the process.

Mental Self-Care

How you think affects how you feel and act. The way you think and the things that you're filling your mind with greatly influence your psychological well-being. In this lesson we talk about mental self-care and explore how our state of mind affects our outcomes. We also talk about some research findings related to music and the brain.

Emotional Self-Care

What is emotional self-care? What does it entail and why is it important? In this lesson we talk about the importance of being in tune with our emotions, navigating and processing emotions, and being aware of our own boundaries. We also talk about how to use music to help process our emotions.

Spiritual Self-Care

In this lesson, we explore spiritual self-care and how to use music as a spiritual self-care tool as we engage in spiritual activities. We explore questions related to origin, meaning, morality, and destiny. Additionally, we talk about how test your worldview or belief system to see if it’s logically consistent.

Social Self-Care

Socialization is key to self-care. How do you maintain important relationships in your life? In this lesson, we talk about the social self-care and how importance of having a supportive group and a network of relationships around you whom you trust and turn to when required. Having a caring and supportive people around you builds a sense of belonging. We also explore how music can provide the backdrop for social self-care.

Prosperity & Abundance

What is financial self-care? Why is it important? In this lesson we explore how to incorporate abundance into our daily lives. We talk about simple things we can do to improve our relationship with prosperity. We also explore the question of whether our lifestyle is consistent with our financial goals or not.

Professional Self-Care

What are your professional goals? Have you set and maintained clear professional boundaries while living your purpose? How can you leverage the power of music to reduce stress and improve your productivity at work? These are some of the questions we explore in this lesson. We also talk about specific activities you can incorporate in your professional self-care daily.

Lesson 9

Caring For Our Environment

What is environmental self-care? How does it impact our general well-being? Is your home or working environment safe and well-maintained to help you thrive? How do you reduce clutter and maintain a safe home-work environment? In this lesson, we talk about how our environment positively or negatively impact us and how we can take meaningful steps to reduce clutter and simply our lives. We provide tips on how to use music to help the process, as well as how to get others involved.

Lesson 10

Recap: Self-care Is A Personal Journey

In this final lesson, we talk about strategies to help you succeed in this personal journey of self-care. You will never change anything you’re not willing to confront. Self-care is a personal journey. It is not a sprint. It is a marathon. You cannot change everything at once. Identify one small step you can take to begin caring for yourself better. Celebrate small wins. A thousand miles begins with a single step.
