Welcome to the Soma Breath Find Your Power Meditation.
I'm Michelle Bradley,
Exercise physiologist,
Health coach,
And Soma Breath instructor.
Take a moment to find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down With this breath work practice,
I'll ask you to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth or nose,
Whichever is most comfortable for you.
So close your eyes.
Relax the muscles in your face.
Soften your neck.
Your shoulders.
Allow your arms to feel warm,
Heavy and relaxed.
Softening the muscles in your back,
Your hips,
And your legs.
Your whole body from head to toe is feeling warm,
Comfortable,
And relaxed.
Releasing any and all tension.
Letting it all go.
You will experience two rounds of breath work.
Each round will be inhaling for the count of four and exhaling for the count of four.
In between each round,
I will ask you to inhale then exhale,
Getting all the air out of your lungs and hold the breath on the exhale.
Allow yourself to feel the strength and the power to hold your breath out,
Getting a little uncomfortable with the need and the desire to breathe,
But overcome that urge as much as possible.
And when you feel that you need to take a breath,
Take a little sip of air in and fully exhale again.
And continue to hold your breath.
Then on my count I'll have you fully inhale,
Breathing in deep,
Holding and contracting all the muscles of your body,
Including your pelvic floor muscles.
This is the magic of Soma Breath.
Allowing yourself to feel the need for oxygen and then inhaling deeply and oxygenating every cell of your body.
Allowing your tissues to adapt and be able to increase the absorption of oxygen.
Then you will fully exhale again and resume normal breathing before the second and final round of rhythmical breathing.
The breath work is done to music.
There is a beat and instructions to inhale 2,

4 and exhale 2,
3,
4.
Follow along with the beat of the music allowing your breath to be smooth rhythmical and connected no need to force your breath allowing it to be pleasurable and enjoyable.
Like an ocean wave feel the breath coming into your body exhale and allow that breath to go out In our first round of breath work together I would like for you to place an intention in your heart,
A desire that you have,
Something that you want something that you would like to accomplish,
A desired state you would like to be in.
Whatever it is call it directly into your heart space with every inhale and on every exhale trust believe and surrender What is your intention for this breath work practice today?

You are worthy and deserving Staying with the breath feeling your breath energize you sending tingling sensations throughout your body waking you up to your power Breathe in your desire Allow your desire to permeate every cell of your body See this desire as a light or color coming into your heart space and sending it out throughout your entire body filling every space Stay connected Your beautiful breath transforms energizes bringing you greater life and vitality Feeling gratitude for the life force within you The amazing being that you are just the way you are What are you calling in?
Stay connected with the breath With curiosity See how you are being empowered Notice the sensations Embody the feelings This is your breath Your power Just a few more breaths Stay with it and fill yourself up Continue to write into your heart this intention,

This want that you have Filling yourself up Making it yours Now fully inhale Filling your lungs Holding that intention in your heart Now exhale fully surrender Trust and believe Getting all the air out of your lungs Relax You are powerful,
You are strong,
You are capable Allow your body to experience this transformation You may take a sip of air and then fully exhale On my count,

Inhale Fully squeezing the pelvic floor You are squeezing and contracting all the muscles of your body Hold,

Hold Fully exhale,
Letting go,
Releasing all the tension Normal breath Getting ready to inhale and breathe in beats together again This time filling yourself up with whatever quality energizes you Brings you power,
Love and connection Fill yourself up Breathe in the qualities of confidence Strength Life force vitality entering your body With each breath,
Call it in,
Bring it in With every exhale,
Let go and trust Breathe in your magnificence Feel the power,
The love,
The light spread throughout your entire body Filling yourself up completely with your life force energy Just a few more breaths Taking it all in Powerful,
Strong and capable Fully inhale,
Filling yourself up with all of your life force energy Hold,

Hold So powerful,

So amazing Fully exhale,
Letting go Relaxing,
Surrendering Holding the breath out Pushing yourself a little bit past the comfort zone Taking a small sip of air and exhaling again if needed Notice and feel and believe in the energy the healing,
The life force power you've generated in your body Getting ready to inhale on my count in 3,

Shoot this energy up through the entire being of who you are,
Embracing it in your heart space bringing it into your mind,
Exploding it with power Hold,
Contract all the muscles in your body Feel the energy,
