Explore MeditationMaya’s love for yoga began in 2014 when she took her first class due to increased stress in her field as an individual therapist for child victims of sexual abuse. Slowly it felt as though yoga had brought back her light. Maya slowly began to see the physical impact of emotional distress and trauma in the body connected with the benefits of restoring simple functional movements while practicing asana. She began to see the power of tuning in to one's body on a somatic level, finding the hidden pockets of emotions in order to release through movement and breath. Maya’s goal as a yoga teacher is to share the healing practice of yoga with others. She takes what she has learned and combines it with a sense of meditation through movement and prana in an effort to promote emotional and physical well-being for all levels of practitioners.
