Welcome to this meditation on motivation.

Want to invite you to begin by finding a comfortable position and allowing your body to relax.

You may consider closing your eyes or keeping them open with a soft focus on one particular spot in the room in which you're sitting.

Turn your attention inwards and notice how you are feeling in this moment.

Observe where your body is the most tense and take a few moments to release the tension in those areas.

Now take a deep breath in and as you breathe out lower your shoulders into a relaxed position.

Relax your arms and your hands as you exhale and with your next breath relax your legs and your feet sinking them further into the chair and into the floor.

Breathe in and exhale relaxing your jaw and any tightness in your jaw.

And continue breathing slowly and calmly letting your body relax a bit more with each out breath releasing tension every time you exhale feeling your body sinking relaxing and becoming loose.

Motivation happens when we discard our beliefs in the causes of our procrastination and instead concentrate on the benefits we get as a result of taking massive action right now.

Imagine a task that you have been putting off.

Think of one specific thing that you have been meaning to do but somehow just seem to keep delaying.

Notice the thoughts you are having as you think about this task.

All the reasons you have been putting it off.

All the excuses.

All the explanations.

Now I want you to consider the reasons to get it done right away.

The reasons to take action to complete this task within the next 24 hours.

And when you consider those reasons which reasons are more compelling?

The reasons to get it done or the reasons not to?

If there are more reasons not to do the task perhaps it really needs to be removed from your list of things to do right now.

Or you need to create some more compelling reasons to get it done.

So ask yourself how does this task benefit me or others?

Do I see the connection?

How important is it that this job is completed in a timely fashion?

How will I feel when it is done?

And how will I or those I care about most benefit from me doing this?

Perhaps it is just a stepping stone that gets me closer to something even bigger and better.

Now I want you to look again at the reasons.

Are there more reasons to do the task?

Or are the reasons to do it now more meaningful than the reasons not to?

If they are you must honor that belief and take action towards completing it in the next 24 hours.

To help you get ready for this massively rewarding effort.

I want to offer you the following suggestions to help prepare you for what you are about to do.

I was putting off this task but I no longer value the reasons I was procrastinating.

And I now see how this behavior in my past has only hurt me and the people I care about most.

When faced with doing things I may not enjoy,

I will begin them immediately,

Get them out of the way,

And then reward myself afterward by doing the things I enjoy most.

I see how quickly eliminating seemingly unimportant tasks will empower me to spend my time with the people and activities that fill me with joy,

Love,

And satisfaction.

I welcome that feeling of achievement that I get from completing even the most mundane chores and how that feeling benefits me so much more than the stress I used to feel from a long unfinished to do list.

I choose how to spend my time and I recognize that my time is the most precious asset in my entire life.

So I vow not to waste a single breath and I will spend most of my time on what matters most to me.

I know that distractions and delays only waste this resource so I clear out the small things so I can make room for the things that have meaning.

I can begin any job even if there is a possibility I may not complete it successfully.

I no longer fear failure because I now welcome feedback in all its forms and I accept that any plan that does not work out is only meant to teach me something or to make me want to complete it again perhaps with even more determination than ever before.

For me the only better feeling than getting started right now is knowing I am one step closer to getting something done.

Yet I do not need to get everything finished at once.

Getting is the most important step for when I get started I am further ahead and I now have momentum on my side pushing me to go even further and further.

I know I can finish anything but only if I get it started right now.

Trying to be perfect no longer serves me I do my best in every moment by taking action and always staying open to the learning I get about being better and better.

I welcome rejection and criticism as my teachers.

I have the confidence in myself to risk because I know that any results from my action now are going to infinitely be better than the results of staying stuck and putting it off.

I cannot wait to begin I have never been more ready than I am right now and I know what is waiting for me when I get this done.

Now you have heard these messages and I want you to relax for a few moments planting these concepts in the deepest recesses of your mind and body and noticing right now how new neural pathways are being created by you to keep these ideas present and strong within you propelling you forward and into action without hesitation or delay.

Notice how easy it is to rest to relax even though you are so excited to get started.

But before you do I want to offer you a few more suggestions.

First I invite you to think of something that you may have put off in your past and as you look at it now does it look the same to you or do you know what needs to happen?

You will begin this task within the next 24 hours because you have every reason to.

You are ready to take charge you know why you are doing it and nothing can stop a determined you.

Imagine what it is you need to do and picture yourself taking the action.

See yourself completing the steps with ease and confidence learning along the way and improving and ultimately getting it done and out of the way.

See yourself starting and completing.

Imagine how good you will feel when you are done.

Imagine how you will reward yourself when you completed this difficult task.

If the task is large it is okay to allow yourself enough time to complete it but you will get started right away.

Feel the momentum of that first action and let it propel you forward to completion.

See yourself starting and feeling a sense of accomplishment for taking that first step.

See yourself working through the chore confidently allowing yourself to be filled with feelings of accomplishment and confidence and imagining how good you will feel when you finished.

Picture yourself as the person who gets started quickly.

Imagine that you enjoy taking on various projects and that you get started immediately without putting anything off.

Create a picture of yourself as this person and hear the sounds of congratulations from others for having the spirit of a champion.

Consider how good and successful you will feel even if you judge you did not do things perfectly even if there are some tasks that do not get every result.

See yourself feeling good about your efforts and learning how you can be better.

Create all the details of what this would be like for you and burn them into your mind so that there is no longer any room for negative thoughts that you may have had in the past.

You know you are this person.

You have every skill,

Ability and talent that you need right now to be this person and it feels great to finally allow this aspect of you to shine through.

To let yourself do the things that you need to do that you want to do without holding yourself back.

Think again about what you used to put off and see how easy and simple it looks right now knowing all the benefits that you will get as a result of getting these completed.

Notice now that it is time to act.

And now that you are ready the only thing to do is get started and we always begin by taking a deep breath in.

Noticing how our body responds,

Fueling our minds with life affirming energy and locking in these new ideas at the deepest level.

With your next breath bring life back to your body.

You may want to wiggle your fingers and toes as the blood carries this fresh oxygen to every part of you that needs it and along with it all the energy and all the spirit and all the motivation that you are receiving.

And on your third breath I want to invite you to open your eyes and take a look around and you may notice that things are looking different to you right now.

That they are brighter.

That the opportunity is waiting for you to take action right now.

Itโ€™s funny, I found this motivation meditation cheesy at the beginning, but Iโ€™ve done it twice now and each time I feel motivated upon completion. Donโ€™t judge, let go and you feel it do itโ€™s work.
