So,
Let's begin by rolling your neck,
Your wrists,
Your ankles,
Giving yourself a little twist.
And when you feel ready,
You can come to stillness,
Gazing down or closing your eyes if you haven't yet.
And making a choice if you'd like to have your palms facing down to ground your energy or your palms facing up to receive energy.
And now bringing your awareness to your breath,
Breathing in and out through your nose,
Sending your breath down to your belly,
Really allowing yourself to be present in this moment.
Perhaps you can notice the hairs in your nose and your nostrils,
How they move ever so slightly with each inhalation and exhalation.
Or maybe you can even notice how the temperature of your breath changes.
As it moves in and out of those nostrils,
Can you notice if it's cooler or warmer on your in versus out breaths?
And now noticing how your belly expands and contracts with each in-breath and out-breath,
Really sending your breath down to your belly and feeling that move with ease and grace.
And starting at the top of your head,
I'm inviting you now to do a light body scan,
Just noticing where you can release any tension and soften.
And your forehead,
Around your eyes,
Your jaw,
Your neck.
Noticing if you can drop your shoulders even just a little bit,
Softening in your tops of your arms,
The bottoms of your arms,
Your hands,
Your fingers,
Making any adjustments that feel good,
Softening in your back,
In your chest,
In your belly,
In your seat.
Tops of your legs,
Bottoms of your legs,
And all the way down to your feet and your toes,
Just grounding in this present moment,
Allowing yourself to be here now.
And continuing with these elongated breaths,
I invite you now to bring forward this energy of the lunar new year,
The new moon representing this chance to be able to start again.
And while the new moon can seem as if there's nothing there,
Knowing that it is full just on the other side.
And just like us humans,
When sometimes it feels dark,
We can remind ourselves that the light is right around the corner.
And being able to appreciate the wisdom that we gain from the darkness as we step forward into that light.
And honoring this being the year of the snake,
The serpent medicine,
This beautiful creature that to some may seem scary,
But to you,
You know,
It's an invitation.
The snake invites more clarity,
More precision,
The ability to release what isn't serving and to take in and slowly digest what is.
And so as we move into this lunar new year,
The year of the snake,
I invite you to ask your heart,
What am I shedding this year to make room for more expansion?
If it would serve you can bring your hand to your heart space,
Really connecting the beating of your heart and asking,
What is it that I'm here to shed?
So that I can make room for more expansion.
What do you want to let go of?
What do you know that if you released,
You would be able to reclaim?
And with that knowing,
What does it mean for you when it comes to what you will choose to consume?
So that it will serve in that growth and expansion.
What will you consume with intention that will serve in your expansion?
And then how will you face your fears and become more empowered on your journey this year ahead?
How will you face your fears and become even more empowered in your journey ahead?
And once you have received your answers,
I invite you to bow your head ever so slightly towards your heart.
