Meditation for Inner Balance and Nourishment In this meditation you will connect with the all-pervading life force energy,
Prana.
We can use that energy to nourish and rejuvenate our body and mind.
This practice involves a kriya,
An internal movement of energy and awareness.
It is not so much about visualizing,
But rather feeling and sensing.
After a short breathwork preparation that will help you internalize your mind,
I will ask you to see or sense a kind of light or energy moving from space around you,
From the universe,
Into your body in a specific way.
In the second part of this meditation,
You will simply rest in this light or energy essence.
Do not worry if you cannot sense or feel it for the first time.
The more you practice it,
The easier it will be for you to drop into a more refined state of sensing and perceiving energy.
To begin,
Find a comfortable meditation sit and sit tall.
You can sit on a meditation cushion or chair.
Keep your neck long and gently tuck your chin in.
Allow your hands to rest on your thighs,
Arms are relaxed.
Start bringing your awareness to your breath.
Start gently deepening the breath.
Breathe in and out from the nostrils.
As you breathe in,
Allow your abdomen and chest to rise.
Your abdomen and chest fall back toward the spine as you breathe out.
Breathe in,
Belly and chest rise.
Breathe out,
Belly and chest sink back toward the spine.
Please continue.
Have the intention to make your breath as even and smooth as possible.
Notice the energetic qualities of your breath.
The inhalation is ascending,
Filling you up,
Bringing you new energy.
The exhalation is descending,
Emptying,
Allowing you to soften and let go.
Keep your breath deep and smooth.
Smooth transition from the inhale to exhale and from the exhale to inhale so that there are no gaps or pauses between the breaths.
Smooth,
Deep and silent breath.
As you breathe this way,
Notice your mind calming down and dropping into a deeper state of awareness.
Anytime you lose your focus and notice your mind thinking,
Simply bring yourself back to the breath.
Gradually allow your breath to become more effortless and start bringing awareness to a collective light or energy around you.
The collective light of the universe.
A collective light from all the stars,
Suns and galaxies.
As you inhale,
Draw all of these forces,
All of this energy and light through the top of your head,
Down your spine to your navel center.
Hold your breath briefly and sense a bright fire igniting in the navel center and becoming a powerful blaze.
As you exhale,
Sense the force,
The power of this blaze as a radiant light and intelligence spreading into the tissues of your body and mind.
We will be repeating this internal movement of energy a few more times.
First,
You simply sense or feel this collective light,
Not just the light that is surrounding you,
But the collective light and energy from the entire universe.
And as you inhale,
You draw this light or energy through the top of your head,
Down the spine,
Into your navel center,
Center of your abdomen.
Hold your breath briefly and sense a bright fire,
Light igniting in the abdomen that is becoming like a powerful blaze.
Exhale and sense the force of this light as light and intelligence that is spreading into the tissues of your body and mind.
Please continue.
Inhale collective light from the universe through the top of your head,
Down the spine,
Into the abdomen.
Hold the breath briefly.
Sense light igniting in the navel.
And as you exhale,
Spread this light and this energy into the tissues and layers of your body and mind.
Please continue five more times.
Five more deep breaths like this.
Again,
Do not worry too much if you cannot feel or sense this energy from the first time.
The energy or the movement will become more tangible the more you practice it.
And if you cannot feel this light or energy,
For now,
Simply visualize it.
Inhaling and exhaling the collective light of the universe that is bringing you nourishment,
Healing,
And helps you to assimilate food into nourishment,
Experiences,
Information into knowledge.
For the last part of this meditation,
Simply rest in the essence of this energy,
This light.
See or feel it as a spiral or a disk of multicolored light and energy.
In the navel center,
This light,
This spiral is radiating out from the navel center.
As you allow your awareness to rest with that spiral of light,
Notice it becoming more stable and concentrated.
Feel the light emanating from the spiral becoming more bright,
More luminous.
This light is bringing you perfect stability and brightness.
A light,
A spiral of multicolored light and energy radiating from the navel center.
This light,
This energy nourishes your body and allows you to assimilate the energy into all of your organs and tissues.
It nourishes your mind,
Allowing you to transform information into knowledge.
This light has an incredible power that spreads throughout the whole body and mind,
Illuminating everything.
Rest in the essence of this light.
Start slowly deepening your breath.
Remember this light,
This energy inside of your body.
Bring your hands together in front of the chest.
Gently lower your chin.
When you are ready,
Slowly open the eyes.
