Words are not just sounds.
They are not just letters strung together.
Words are forces.
Words create.
Words destroy.
Words are the architects of our reality.
As Napoleon Hill once said,
Both poverty and riches are the offspring of thought.
And what is thought if not an unspoken word?
Florence Skoufshin also taught that words are wands.
What you declare,
You bring forth.
What you deny,
You reject.
And Yogananda reminded us that our speech carries vibration.
A vibration that aligns with abundance or lack,
Peace or chaos,
Joy or despair.
We cannot escape it.
The words we think,
The words we speak,
Are steering the ship of our destiny.
But here's the challenge.
Let's get real about this.
Most of us are unconscious of the words we use.
Most of us are programming our reality without realizing it,
Simply in effect of the culture we were raised in.
So let's break this down.
If what we focus on expands,
Then the words we use steer the focus of our inner ship.
Consider this.
What happens when you constantly say,
I'm exhausted.
I'm drowning.
I'm stuck.
I'm caught in the weeds.
I never have enough time.
Your body listens.
Your mind obeys.
Your reality conforms.
And yet,
What happens when you shift to,
I am energized.
I am growing.
I am creating space.
I have more than enough time for what matters most.
The world bends to meet your declaration.
This is not woo-woo.
This is personal power in action.
Neuroscientists often talk about how our words shape our neural pathways.
Our words influence our reticular activating system,
The part of the brain that filters our reality.
Speak defeat and you will notice failure everywhere.
Speak possibility and doors you never saw will appear.
Let's go deeper.
Have you ever met someone who says,
I'm bad with money.
And lo and behold,
They struggle financially.
Or someone who declares,
I always get sick this time of the year.
And like clockwork,
They do.
This is not coincidence.
This is the self-fulfilling prophecy of language.
And let's talk about fathers for a moment.
How often do men say,
I'm just doing my best.
But what they really mean is,
I feel like I'm failing.
The words we use to describe our role as parents,
As leaders in business,
As leaders of our community and creators,
They matter.
They don't just describe reality,
They create it.
Which brings us to the four agreements.
Don Miguel Ruiz says the very first agreement,
The most foundational principle for transformation is this.
Be impeccable with your word.
And if you walk into my house,
What you'll see first on the wall is a sign that has the four agreements.
Be impeccable with your word.
Not just in honesty,
Not just in integrity,
But in self-declaration.
Because the words you speak are spells.
The words you speak about others are spells.
When you say I am,
You are casting a spell upon yourself.
So I ask you now,
What kind of spells have you been casting on yourself,
On your kids,
On your friends,
On your family,
On your co-workers?
What reality have your words been building?
Now I could already hear the doubts creeping in.
But Mark,
What about reality?
What about the facts of life?
Let's get real here.
I can't just say I'm successful and make it true overnight.
And you're right.
I'm not talking about spiritual bypassing here.
This is not about lying to yourself.
This is about aligning with a higher truth.
Because truth is not just what is.
Truth is what can be.
Truth is not just what is.
Truth is what can be.
Yogananda taught that affirmations are not about pretending.
They are about awakening the highest version of ourselves.
So when you say I am prosperous,
Even when your bank account is low,
You are not lying.
You are aligning with the reality you are stepping into.
When you say I am a present parent,
Even if you've been distracted,
You are planting the seed of who you are becoming.
And what you plant,
You will harvest.
So here is my invitation to you.
Over the next 30 days,
Become a guardian of your words.
And share this with your kids too,
For the parents listening.
Watch what you say.
Feel the energy behind your speech.
When you hear yourself say I have to,
Try saying I get to.
Feel the shift.
When you catch yourself saying I'm not good at that,
Try saying I am learning how to master that.
When you are tempted to say I can't,
Say I am discovering a new way.
Because your words are commands.
They are marching orders to your subconscious mind.
They are seeds you plant in the garden of reality.
Be intentional with them.
Be powerful with them.
Be impeccable with your word.
And watch as the world bends to meet the new vibration you bring.
You have always been a creator.
You are not at the mercy of life.
You are not a victim of circumstance.
You are a sculptor.
And your chisel is your word.
Speak with wisdom.
Speak with vision.
Speak with conviction.
And create the life you were meant to live.
