This meditation combines the research of the psychologist Abraham Maslow with the ancient practice of visualizing chakra centers to help manifest the greatest version of yourself.
You'll begin in a comfortable seated position in a space that is free from distractions,
Either on a chair or seated on a meditation pillow with your arms gently resting on your knees,
Palms resting up to feel lifted,
Or palms down to feel grounding.
Softly close your eyes or gaze gently down the tip of your nose to focus on a pebble or a spot on the floor or wall that will not move.
We'll begin by slowing down the breath to a smooth four count,
Counting on an inhale up to four,
Then exhaling back down to one.
Let's begin.
Inhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Continue to breathe steady on your own,
While saying aloud or to yourself the following affirmations.
All that I need to live my legacy is either with me now or well on its way.
Imagine a bright red light at the center of the pelvis glowing brighter with each breath.
All that I need to live my legacy is either with me now or well on its way.
I am growing stronger in my unique talents every day.
Imagine an orange light glowing around the navel,
Glowing brighter with each breath.
I am growing stronger in my unique talents every day.
I believe in my abilities and am worthy of greatness.
Imagine a yellow light at the solar plexus glowing brighter with each breath.
I believe in my abilities and am worthy of greatness.
I love who I am and see challenges as opportunities to grow stronger.
Imagine a green light at the heart glowing brighter with each breath.
I love who I am and see challenges as opportunities to grow stronger.
I love who I am and see challenges as opportunities to grow stronger.
I speak with confidence and surround myself with those who empower me.
Imagine a bright blue light at the throat glowing brighter with each breath.
I speak with confidence and surround myself with those who empower me.
I follow my own path and tune into my source to guide me.
Imagine a bright indigo light between the eyes glowing brighter with each breath.
I follow my own path and tune into my source to guide me.
I embrace change,
Follow my bliss,
And breathe away fear.
Imagine a bright violet light above the crown of the head glowing brighter with each breath.
I embrace change,
Follow my bliss,
And breathe away fear.
Continue to breathe steady with a smooth four count inhale and four count exhale and imagine experiencing the following thoughts,
Feelings,
And emotions.
Allow whatever comes to your attention and embrace these visualizations with the playfulness of a dream.
Imagine a large movie screen appears in front of you.
After a few seconds,
Pictures begin to fill the screen of events,
Places,
And experiences in which you intend to have in your life.
Experience this for a few breaths.
Spend as little or as much time with each image as you wish and allow images that you may not have thought about previously to come to the screen.
You will always have the option to come back to this screen at another time.
Music Music Music Imagine entering a room with a large treasure chest open in the middle.
You have the ability to place in the chest all that you need to create the legacy impact you wish to have on your life's journey.
What would you place in this chest?
These could be real items as well as symbols or metaphor.
Experience this for a few breaths,
Placing as little or as much as you wish in the chest.
You always have the option to come back at a later time.
Music Music Music Imagine entering a great room with a large table in the center of the room.
Seated at the table and stretching as far as the eye can see are the many people you have met in your life.
You sit down at the table and each of them share what they love most about you.
What would you like them to say?
Experience this moment for a few breaths on your own.
Music Music Continue to breathe steady throughout the next several minutes as we shift to find grounding and focus in the present.
You may consider opening your eyes to softly gaze on a spot in front of you that will not move.
Count each breath while maintaining a steady inhale and exhale.
And when you make it up to 10,
Simply begin again with the number one.
I will be silent for a few minutes while you count your breath on your own.
Whenever a thought distracts your counting,
Simply come back to counting your breath.
