Joy is our true nature.
Unfortunately,
Oftentimes,
We forget how to get in this state of joy that is meaningless,
That doesn't need any reason to emerge.
And just like clouds sometimes hide the sun,
There are some behaviors or patterns of people,
Kind of environments,
That can just diminish our joy and so that we think that we are the problem or the other is the problem there's something that is wrong and nothing is wrong we just have to become aware again of what we are thinking what we are feeling And foremost,
What are our thoughts?
And I just want to mention two types of personals,
Two types of personalities that might dim our light and dim our joy.
This is obvious to many people,
But I think that getting a reminder is really helpful when we struggle to discern what we should do to get better in life,
To just feel more aligned and to just thrive.
So I also like to mention that these are not two psychological profiles.
I will mention two things that seem like mainstream patterns,
But I'm more attached to get some cues about what it looks like.
So without further ado,
These two types are people,
Personalities that are controlling,
And people that are avoiding avoiding.
So both are filled with anxiety and both are stereotypes,
Archetypes of fear that is displayed in different ways at two extremes of the same spectrum.
Because when I'm afraid,
Either I will try to fight or flight,
Freeze or fall,
You know this.
And when I witness someone who is joyful,
Who wants to express their joy,
Maybe I will tend to fed myself,
Right?
Or to have resentment or to deem myself and suddenly I will feel like I'm distant from the other person and I will look like I'm distant because I'm avoiding this.
And also I could either try to control myself to compose myself and to say things that don't really sound like myself and I will try to control everything so that the other person is not shining brighter than me.
So you notice that I'm speaking with I because I'm really not in this mood and this trend of identifying people around you that would be bad,
Right?
Of course there are situations where we have to run away,
People that are not good for us really,
But my intention here is first to remind myself and maybe you too that inside of me I've got these two personas,
And sometimes they emerge,
And sometimes parts of me want to control my life and want to say,
Hey,
Hey,
Stop there.
You're expressing too much joy.
Don't you think that life should be more serious?
Don't you think you should be afraid?
Don't you think that there's no sense in making it easy?
You don't deserve,
Right?
Every time the same thing.
You don't deserve,
So I'm controlling you so that you don't escape.
So that you don't become the grown-up you could be if you would just let your inner child express itself and reconcile both the child and the adult within you and just be the person you are.
And on the other hand,
There's this person inside of me who is avoiding joy,
Who is afraid of joy,
Who wants to please people and who is afraid of being too much,
Even if it's so tiny sometimes.
But,
You know,
Scales are just disorganized and sometimes we think we are too much when we are just a little compared to what our soul really wants to be.
And so this voice tells me,
OK,
People around me are not as joyful as I am.
People don't seem to enjoy life.
Maybe they're sad,
Maybe they're depressed,
Maybe they're not going well,
So I'm not going to show my joy,
Because it will make them feel sad or bad or not enough or not valuable,
So I would just hide.
And I know how I inherited this,
Growing up in a home where a parent was sick,
And so I couldn't just be well.
Then dealing with avoidant people around me and also my avoidant traits,
I perfectly know how I can rush into this faded self,
The faded self that is trying to master everything but has forgotten the main thing which is just let myself be and don't be afraid of joy,
Just trust that joy is the best thing to follow,
The best voice to manifest,
Has the best voice,
Just like a friend who would remind you constantly.
You are this.
You are meant to live joy.
And that doesn't prevent you from other emotions.
That doesn't prevent you from being sad or from having compassion,
From taking care of others.
It has nothing to do with that because joy is something we can share and who will amplify the joy of others because it's contagious.
It's simply contagious.
So my final question for myself today,
This morning,
As I'm recording this and maybe for you,
To is,
What do I want to be?
Contaminated pie And what if I started by generate and receive joy inside of me so that I can express it outwards?
I'm working in the field of voice and body,
Both somatic and mindfulness and vocal improvisation,
Both to free the voice and to get more aligned with our inner path and to In a sense,
Get rid of the separation between how we feel,
How we are inside and how we sound,
How we look outside.
It's really a matter of unification and just harmonization and if you are interested in knowing more about my work which is completely derived from my own life,
Personal and professional,
Then just get a look at my profile and the resources that I can offer to you.
Who knows where your voice might lead you,
Too,
If you dare the joy.
