This practice for kids is designed for the start of the school day, but can be used at anytime. Very clear instructions. Used with a pilot group of children (boys aged 8 - 12), who were finding it a challenge to maintain focus and concentration throughout the school day. We did these sessions at the start of each day before entering the classroom. It is 10 minutes long so you can use it in sections. Play 1- 2 minutes & fade out, then slowly build up to the full 10 minutes over a few days or weeks. The feedback from our group was all positive. The boys developed a whole new and positive vocabulary!

And prepare to relax.

I start every day by relaxing,

Checking in with myself,

And taking time to chill out.

I want to get ready for the day ahead,

Make myself powerful,

Strong,

Determined,

Cool,

Calm,

Focused.

To be able to sit still,

I really need to make myself very strong inside and very aware of who I am.

I am special.

There is no one like me.

So at this moment,

I don't look at anyone else.

It's as if my eyes are looking inside my own head and enjoying being with myself.

I don't need to prove anything to anyone.

I'm strong,

I'm focused,

I can concentrate.

At this moment,

Everything is totally okay.

There's no danger,

No worry.

Right here,

Right now,

I am okay.

Everything is okay.

I can focus inside and become strong,

Calm,

Cool,

Clear.

It takes real power to be able to sit still and be focused.

I know I am powerful enough.

I can do this.

I can concentrate my energy inside.

I don't want to waste my energy.

So I just spend a few minutes sitting quietly,

Focused inside,

Telling myself about the day ahead that I will remain cool,

Calm,

I will not waste my energy.

I will use my energy in a really positive,

Calm,

Quiet way.

I will express myself when I need to.

I will be strong enough to walk away if I need to.

I am powerful enough to just take a few seconds before I speak to make sure what I'm going to say is useful,

Helpful,

Kind,

Sensible.

I am becoming really mature,

Powerful,

Clear,

Calm,

And cool.

Everything is okay.

I am okay.

I look within,

I stay still,

I sit calmly,

I look within.

I am okay.

Everything is okay.

I have so much energy inside me and I can use that energy to say really positive,

Clear,

Helpful things.

Friendly,

Beneficial things.

I can let go of any worries and tension and let my energy sit.

Be still,

But still be powerful.

Being still is not weak.

Being quiet is not being powerless.

I am powerful,

And that's why I can be quiet.

I am strong,

And that's why I can be still and focused and concentrated.

I can relax.

I am okay.

I remember this throughout the day.

If anything comes to make me feel uncomfortable,

I remember I have the power to feel okay.

I just look inside,

Pause,

Take a few seconds,

And say to myself,

I am okay.

And remember how strong I am inside.

A strong person doesn't need to prove who they are.

A strong person looks inside for what they need because everything is there.

I am already strong.

Everything is okay.

I am calm.

I am quiet because I am powerful.

I have the ability to think myself into a calm,

This was great and helped calm my kiddo down from his angry state. I wrote the above review weeks ago, but I felt I needed to add more. I really cannot stress how good this meditation is with my son. In fact it is the ONLY meditation he melts/letโ€™s go of his anger to. Donโ€™t get me wrong, we love other meditations as well. However this is our go to whenever the angry attitude monster creeps in. Thank you Marilyn for sharing thisโค๏ธ

A great way to get a child into a strong and positive mindset about the school day ahead. I can imagine this being played as they are being driven to school, so they step out of the car armored up for their day.
