The focus of the meditation on ‘Allowance’ is to answer the question: “What can I do to take better care of myself?”. You’ll tune into your breath, and the sensations in your body and reflect on the topics of self-care and self-love. This self-inquiry exercise is part of the journal 'Goodbye Old. Hello New.’ which is written by Marianne de Kuyper.

Hello and welcome to a meditation of goodbye old,

Hello new and the topic for this meditation is allowance and i would like you to find a quiet place for your meditation you may close your eyes or keep them open and become aware of your breath,

Notice the breath in your body and feel the inhale and exhale and allow it to slow down,

Stay with the breath,

Keep noticing where your attention goes and keep bringing the focus back to the breath,

Your breath in the body,

Stay as present as possible and try staying in the now and let your breath be your anchor to do so and let's begin,

The self-enquiry question for this meditation on allowance goes as follows,

What could you do to take better care of yourself?

So what could you do to take better care of yourself?

And just listen to whatever answers come up and take a mental note of them and at your own pace you can keep repeating the question inside of your mind,

What could you do to take better care of yourself?

And feel welcome to rephrase it,

I put the word i where i had the word you,

So what could i do to take better care of myself?

So you say the question quietly in your mind and then you listen for answers,

So what could i do to take better care of myself?

What could i do to take better care of myself?

So what could i do to take better care of myself?

And whenever you feel that you are ready to let go of the question,

Let go of the question and notice during the rest of your day and night what answers your subconscious mind will keep on presenting to you and perhaps take some notes after this meditation and also feel free to keep on adding suggestions to this journal and when you're ready to close the meditation,

Take three more deep breaths in and out,

So three more rounds of deep breathing and then you open your eyes when you're ready to move on with whatever lies ahead of you and i will speak to you soon again.
