I am a meditation teacher.
One of my favorite things to do is to teach children meditation as well as adults.
I love helping people find their energy and really tap into their source,
Their power.
This is my son Riley.

And this is my mom Wilma.

During this pandemic,
I thought I would invite them to join me on this video here to give you a tool that might help you and your family find a little bit more peace,
A little bit more strength,
A little bit more vitality in your life.
And I know that there are little kids out there and the attention span isn't very long,
Right mom?
No it's not.
My mom was a teacher for many years and I know that age group.
So that's why we're going to keep this video short,
Okay?
We're just going to give you a tip.
Today we're going to be talking about our ancestors,
Our connection to our ancestors.
One of the greatest things about making videos,
Creating the podcast,
Putting content out here is so that there's a recording for future generations.
When I'm no longer here,
Riley and my daughter are going to be able to see us on this video right here.
So I just want to bring that thought into your heart and your mind.
There are people probably in your life that are no longer here.
We love them anyway.
Love lasts forever.
So right now in this particular meditation tool,
I want to focus on gratitude,
Gratitude for the contribution that we make to this world.
Each of us,
Each of us,
Even you right there,
Five years old,
Ten years old,
I don't care how old you are,
Maybe you're 80 years old and you've never thought of this before.
Your energy matters.
Every moment of your life can affect someone else.
You can decide how you want that to play out.
You want to help people?
You want to show love and appreciation to those that are around you.
So we're going to do a little bit of a meditation right now.
We're actually going to focus on sound in this meditation.
And the reason I want to do that is because we have the power of our own voice,
Our own bodies,
Our vibration.
And I kind of like to think about it in terms of technology too,
How it goes forward,
It reverberates,
Just like a wave across the planet.
It creates energy.
We're all energy and our vibration travels.
So right now though,
I'm going to teach you guys a tool that we haven't done this before.
I'm excited.
We're going to make a sound right now.
We are going to make a hum,
Okay,
Across any culture.
By the way,
We're talking about meditation.
Did I mention it's not a religion?
That's right.
It doesn't matter what religion you are,
If any.
It's your power and your strength that you're able to do this thing.
So if you're frustrated and angry,
Sometimes you feel like yelling.
Sometimes you feel like yelling into a pillow with frustration.
Or you love to tell somebody that you love them.
So focus on the energy that we can create in our own bodies with a humming sound,
Okay?
This is what you do.
It literally is a hum.
You go,
Hum.
Right,
Okay?
That's what it's going to sound like.
We invite all of us to close our eyes.
Now,
You guys can see us.
You guys can hear us.
We can't hear you.
So we don't know whether you're doing it or not.
But I promise you,
If you follow along with us,
If you make this humming sound,
You're not even going to hear us anymore.
You're going to hear yourself.
You're going to feel your own energy.
It's pretty cool.
Are you ready?
Okay,
We're going to do it three times,
Three hums.
But first,
I'm going to ask us all to close our eyes.
Close your eyes.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your face,
The muscles in your face.
You get tired sometimes from smiling.
That's okay.
We're going to relax.
Breathe naturally.
We are going to hum three times together.
We're going to do it so loud that we can feel the vibration in our bodies,
In our hearts,
In our heads.
We can hear the hum.
We can feel the vibration.
Sound.
And we're going to take a breath in together.
And then exhale.
Then inhale.
And on the next exhale,
We're going to hum.
Inhale.
Hum.
Beautiful.
It's not a race.
It's not a contest to see who can do it the longest.
Do it for as long as it's comfortable for you.
Breathe naturally right now.
Relax.
We're going to take a deep breath in together.
I wasn't going to do it for a second time.
Inhale together.
Hum.
Breathe naturally.
Relax.
We're going to take another deep breath in and do it for a third time.
Breathe in.
Hum.
Beautiful.
Keep your eyes closed and breathe naturally.
That vibration that you are creating with your body can calm your own fears and anxiety down.
It can calm yourself,
But it also affects the people around you.
It's like purring like a little kitty.
With your eyes closed,
I'd like you to think about a time when someone that you love has touched you.
Maybe on your hair to comfort you.
Maybe they've snuggled you.
Maybe they've had a back scratch.
A little massage on your neck.
You are so loved.
Breathe in and breathe out.
And then,
You can take a deep breath in together one last time.
And exhale.
Slowly open your eyes when you are ready.
Sometimes I can't help but smile.

That was good,
Yeah.
You haven't done that before,
Huh?
No.
What do you think,
Mom?
I love it.
This is a unifying element between the three of us,
Or five of us,
Ten of us in the room.
Yes.
I think I'd like to do it on Zoom with my family.
We should.
Wow.
You know,
You guys,
Just so you know,
My mom is visiting us right now.
We've been together for a while now.
That's why we're sitting a little closer.
We have been wearing our masks.
We've been careful.
But to tell you the truth,
It's so interesting,
Because in this pandemic time,
People don't know.
When you have your mask on,
It's hard for people to know when you're out there that you're smiling.
They can't see your smile as much as before,
Because you have your mask on.
But with your eyes,
You can smile,
And with your energy,
Truly.
When you walk into a store,
You walk down the street,
You walk on the boardwalk at the beach with your mask on,
People can feel if you're happy.
They can feel your energy.
And that hum kind of reminds me of that.
It's a low hum that we can do.
Your body is making noise all of the time.
It's a vibration of love that's going out there.
It really is.
It really is.
So I'm really glad that you're here.
