This particular meditation is designed for when you wake up.
Maybe you're still in bed right now and you just rolled over and put your headset on to listen to my voice saying,
Good morning.
Maybe you're stopping by out of curiosity.
Who is this Maria Humphries here on Insight Timer?
What is she doing here and what does she have to offer?
What does she sound like?
But let's get back to you because you are the reason that I am here.
It doesn't really matter what my name is.
If you are lying down right now,
I want to go ahead and invite you to keep your eyes closed,
Just listening to my voice.
It's time to wake up,
But before you do that,
I want you to think back on the night that just transpired.
Did you have any dreams last night?
And if you did not,
Have you ever had dreams in your life?
It's okay to reach out into your memory bag and bring those dreams to the surface.
Even just taking a moment to acknowledge them whenever they happened can be such a gift.
Keep your body in a comfy,
Cozy position and remain still right now.
Our dreams are powerful learning tools that help us sort through problems and alert us of things we need to work on.
Sometimes we can revisit dreams from the past and receive their messages now.
Perhaps we didn't take the time that they needed in the past,
But we're here now.
We're together and we're traveling through this conscious realm as we wake up to a brand new day.
Try to remember details of your dreams.
Allow things to come up in your mind from those dreams that could be very important messages for your waking life.
Actively dreaming from the unconscious into your everyday life.
We are floating through life,
Taking what we need from our subconscious,
Bringing it to the surface,
Learning things as we go,
Seeing things when we are ready.
I am going to count from one to 10.
And with each number,
I say you are going to allow your dreams to blend with a picture in your mind of what you want your day ahead today to look like.
How do you see your day play out?
What kind of a dream can you bring into your consciousness?
What do you want to make happen today?
See your day as productive.
See your day as joyful.
See your day as fulfilled.
See connection to yourself and others.
See yourself motivated and accomplishing things.
See and feel yourself smiling.
I want you to take this picture you have created of this beautiful day in front of you and make it as vivid and vibrant as possible.
Bring the colors into your mind.
What are people wearing?
What are you wearing today?
Visualize yourself interacting with others in positive ways.
Witness yourself fully motivated towards your goals.
Make this visualization as detailed as you possibly can.
What smells are you going to encounter in your day today?
What tastes?
Allow the day to fully play out in your mind exactly how you desire it to be.
Did you take the time to think ahead and prepare food,
Notes,
Emails out there in the world to get things going?
If you did not pre-plan,
Let go of any pressure.
Trust that your day is going to unfold in the way it is supposed to.
In your visualization,
What kinds of things do you see?
What kinds of people are you talking with?
Take a really big refreshing deep breath to set this image in your mind's eye.
Release Nice.
We are going to begin a little bit of a movement scan before you rise to slowly energize your body to get started in the day.
Gently allow your shoulders to relax.
Bring your attention to your hips.
Feel the connection,
The energy between your body and the surface that you are laying on.
Gently wiggle your toes.
Maybe move your ankles and feet.
Feel the sheets or the blankets against your bare skin.
Move your hands along the surface beneath you.
Maybe stretch your arms to the sides.
Maybe bring your knees up towards your chest.
Stretch in any way that your body feels compelled to.
Move your head.
Stretch your neck however it is guided.
Take a big breath of fresh air.
Release.
With the next inhale,
Imagine beautiful,
Exciting energy coming into your body.
Gacing any fear.
Inhaling confidence and courage.
Allowing a beautiful smile to grace your face.
I am going to count to 10 once again to really help us rise.
With each count,
We are getting more ready to meet our day.
One,
Two,
Three.
See that vision of yourself in your day very clearly.
Four,
Five,
Six.
Breathe that fresh energy.
Seven,
Eight,
Nine.
Stretching your body and moving your muscles.
Number 10.
Open your eyes.
You are fully awake with a smile on your face.
Rise when you are ready and plant your feet firmly on the ground ready to take the steps forward that you need to in your day.
