Relaxing your mind for sleep meditation by Tarika Lovegarden.
As you listen to this meditation you're connecting with your body's natural ability to relax and let go into deep peace.
This happens as effortlessly as breathing.
Begin by taking deep breaths.
The breath is a beautiful way to transition from the busyness of your day into the peacefulness of the night.
Close your eyes.
Inviting your attention to turn inwards.
Perhaps it's been focused on activities all day.
Moving from task to task.
Using your mind like a computer without giving it time to rest.
Feel the relief of laying your head on your pillow.
Knowing that this is your time to unplug from an active mind.
To recharge and rejuvenate.
Continue taking deep breaths.
Feeling the breath flowing into your body.
Soothing away tension.
Tight places of holding are releasing with each breath you take.
Feeling the rhythm of your breathing is relaxing.
As you breathe your mind is clearing.
Perhaps there are thoughts about your day.
Or maybe your mind is busy replaying conversations or events.
You can allow this stream of thoughts.
Giving your mind freedom to be.
Thoughts are like clouds moving freely in a night sky.
Each thought being illuminated by the light of the moon.
Watching your mind is easy.
Relaxing.
As you look at the clouds you can also look at the vastness of the sky.
Watching the clouds coming and going.
Disappearing into the infinite sky.
You may be feeling lighter.
As the clouds clear your mind is clearing.
Enabling you to relax and go to sleep.
Giving your body and mind time to rest.
Looking at the sky you can see the stars far and wide.
Your awareness is expanding.
Becoming aware of the silence deep within.
The space that thoughts move in.
Thoughts floating in the space of silence.
You are becoming limitless.
Peaceful.
As your mind is becoming silent.
Feeling your body relaxing.
Letting go into deep sleep.
Each breath bringing you deeper and deeper into peace and silence.
Free of thought.
Free of tension.
Deep inner peace.
Good night dear friend.
Rest peacefully.
